Chapter 708: CEO confronts rumor, chaos ensues.
"Thank you, Belle."
"It’s nothing. We’re not that late. I mean, it’s not your fault, and Mister Yang will surely understand."
Heaven chuckled as she shook her head. On their way back to the art department, some employees stopped Heaven just to chat. At first, they planned to ignore them altogether. However, they brought her some small gifts and even some snacks as an "appreciation gift" for all her hard work.
At this point, Heaven would be foolish not to think this was just a way for everyone to curry favor from her. It was a hassle. If Belle wasn’t with her, she wouldn’t entertain them. Perhaps she would’ve run out of the building.
Oh, how Heaven wished she had done so in the beginning.
As Heaven and Belle approached the art department, deep lines appeared between Heaven’s brows. The atmosphere in the art department felt a little thick, and even though they hadn’t reached it, Heaven already sensed it.
Normally, even from this distance, they could already hear noises from the art department. And also, people coming in and out of the office to make copies or to send an important document to the other department. But right now, they were like approaching a secret dungeon. It was oddly quiet, and she wondered why.
When Belle and Heaven reached the entrance of the art department, they instinctively halted. Their eyes landed on the cubicles, and everyone slowly shifted their gazes from one direction to another. The two women furrowed their brows, assessing everyone’s expression, which had a mix of shock and horror.
"Uhh..." Belle let out an awkward hum as her brows slowly rose. "Are we in trouble?"
