Chapter 702: Corporate office baffling rumors
When Heaven came into the office the next day, she immediately knew something was wrong. Although it wasn’t the same awkwardness as when there was a ridiculous rumor about her, nor was it the same as when they misidentified Tiger as her husband. It was different, but somehow, she couldn’t pinpoint what it truly was.
"Hmm..." Heaven looked over the monitor screen to peek at everyone. She caught some of her co-workers looking in her direction. But instead of looking away as they should have, they flashed her their brightest smiles.
Heaven flinched as she nearly got blinded by the bright smiles she had been receiving since this morning. It all started with the guard at the entrance, greeting her with a "good morning" when he would usually focus on who goes in and out of the company. Even on her way to the art department, everyone greeted her.
This was what she meant when she said there was something wrong.
Instead of everyone avoiding her like the plague, everyone was suspiciously kind. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that if she asked for a massage, they would do it in a heartbeat.
"Just what is going on?" she murmured as she lowered her head. "Is it because they know I’m friends with Ivy?"
Heaven squinted her eyes as that was the only logical answer she had at the moment. After all, everyone in the office was too excited when they found out she had become acquainted with Ivy. They were hopeful that Heaven would complain about how the art department was ’overworked’and that Ivy would step in to help them.
’Still, they should’ve calmed down by now,’she told herself, rubbing her chin as she pondered about it. ’Or maybe it just started to sink in that I’m friends with Ivy?’
She peeked her head over the monitor again and then looked away. ’How about the other employees from the other departments? Well, considering that a woman named Marissa was fired yesterday, do they think they have to treat me extra special?’
After working in this office for months now, Heaven already knew that everyone in this place wasn’t that kind. Everyone was competitive, after all. Therefore, they would only act this way if there was a deep reason.
"I guess Ivy seems to be a good enough reason for everyone to act extra nice." She shrugged, convinced this situation had something to do with her relationship with Ivy.
