Chapter 621: Just what happened?
"Now, you’re free from this hell."
Heaven wiped her cheek with the back of her hand, still holding the pistol in it. Her eyes fell on Elmo, watching the blood crawl underneath his head.
"What a shame," she whispered, showing no emotions in adding another life taken under her belt. "He didn’t look like he’s a naturally bad person."
Another deep exhale slipped past her nostrils, eyes still on the dead Elmo. It had been a while since she wiped out an entire unit all on her own. Last year, Heaven didn’t truly have the spare time to think about the dead, let alone how many people died in her hands. Not that she felt guilty for this.
"This is the life you lived and the path we all walked." Another whisper escaped her lips, stretching her hand to Elmo to close his eyes. "I’m not saying you made the wrong decision in siding with such a man, but you shouldn’t have been so foolish to think someone like me would let you go."
Heaven retrieved her hand and kept her focus on Primo’s right-hand man. She wouldn’t commend how this man threw his boss under the bus to live. Her men wouldn’t do that; that would hurt their pride. Or even if they did, they knew if she survived, their lives would be hellish than it already was.
That was how she managed to command countless capable men.
"I’m just worried that this might not end," she murmured, planting her hands on her legs as she pushed herself up. "It really brings back some old bitter memories."
Heaven looked around the rooftop. The chopper was still on the helipad, but the pilot in it was already shot dead. It was the same for everyone on the rooftop. The only living soul in there was Heaven. Everyone else was on the ground, lying in their own pool of blood.
