Chapter 558: Quite reliable
Axel had nothing else to do after his ’planned’ lunch with Heaven. His initial plan of spending a day with his sister-in-law failed miserably. Thus, Axel ended up killing time tagging along with Tiger. Everyone was busy and Tiger was the only person whom Axel knew was available at the moment.
He went with Tiger as they made their rounds, checking each department as if they were supervisors or some sort. To be fair, this was actually one of Tiger’s jobs to ensure that the building was safe from any form of danger. It’s just that Bear or someone in the security unit would usually do it because Tiger was lazy. Moreover, Tiger was often with Dominic and Dominic was always out and about.
"This is crazy." Axel couldn’t help but comment as they walked around the twentieth floor. "You mean you need to do this regularly?"
"Mhm. People are crazy and scary." Tiger sniffed as he glossed over the hallway before stopping in front of an office. He opened the door and glanced around before closing it to continue his duty. "Who knows what they bring into this building?"
"Don’t everyone get through the security check at the entrance?"
"Second young master, in this building alone, there’s already a thousand people who come in and out of here. Even if there’s a security check, small things can be easily overlooked," Tiger explained languidly, checking another room and scanning it for a second. "Though the security in here is already tight and no one can get in without a pass, double-checks won’t hurt."
Axel glanced at the man’s side profile with doubt. "I don’t believe that you do this every day."
"I don’t. I’m not competing for the title of being an employee of the month." The two of them walked in the long corridor, heading to the elevator since they mostly checked the floor. "I told you. I need to earn some good points which I can drain once someone fucks around in my turf."
"This is an office, not some sort of gang town."
"Sounds the same thing to me."
At this point, Axel didn’t want to argue with him anymore. After talking to this man for hours, he realized he would never win against Tiger in an argument. The man was clever enough to twist people’s words and turn the tables with his nonsense.
