"Why did you do that, Mr. Captain? Last night, I heard what you did to Silas last night. Even if I used all my brain cells, I just cannot see the logic in why would you do that for me. Please give me an answer or I might lose my mind."
Ivy tried her best to wait before speaking her mind. However, she had been waiting and thus, she didn’t beat around the bush. Answers were what she needed.
Tiger chewed the food slowly and then swallowed it down his throat. "Who said I did it for you?"
"Huh?"
"Miss Wei, believe me or not, but most of my actions don’t have a deep explanation." Tiger reached for the glass of water, chugging a mouthful to clear his throat. When he cleared his mouth, he faced her again with a nonchalant look on his face.
"I did that to that guy because he’s annoying as fuck. That face of his confuses the fuck out of me," he explained in the same nonchalant tone. "I’ve always wanted to punch the guy in the face, you know? And last night, I got the opportunity to have a reason to do that. So there’s that."
Ivy furrowed her brows as she glanced down, asking herself if she should believe him. When she lifted her eyes to him again, Tiger was already picking up a piece of meat.
"That’s your reason?" she inquired quietly. "It’s not because of me?"
"Why would I do that for you?" he returned. "I’m not a hero, Miss Wei. And I don’t plan to be one. If there’s something I aspire to be, that would be becoming a supervillain. I’m good at it. Mr. Zhang can vouch for that."
"Are you sure?"
"No."
