"Grandma," she called, seeing a figure from the corner of her eyes. "Is my baby fine?"
"The baby is alright, thankfully." Grandma Zhu pressed her thin lips, staring at her granddaughter-in-law’s side profile. "The doctor said the baby is holding on tightly. However, it’s best if you don’t stress yourself out for the baby’s sake."
’For the baby’s sake...’Heaven repeated in her mind, keeping her eyes fixed on the ceiling and her hand on her stomach. ’How about your big brother?’
"How about Dom?" she asked quietly, and Grandma Zhu didn’t hold back any information.
"He went out to settle some matters," said Grandma Zhu, glancing at the shut door. "I don’t think he will be back tonight since he needs to bring home Sebastian."
"I see..." Heaven closed her eyes, watching her calm breaths.
When Heaven received the news, she felt like her heart had stopped beating. Her mind went totally blank before her stomach ached until darkness embraced her like an old friend.
