"My parents never raised their hands on me and yet, she had done it multiple times. Miss Shen scares me to death... but after looking at myself in the mirror today, I really pity myself."
She raised her head once again, sporting a fierce look underneath her helpless countenance. "It seemed Miss Shen had forgotten I had been with her for many years. Therefore, I know many things about her that can ruin her career. I will expose her — it would be better if I sell this story so I can earn as well."
"I’m not always like this, Miss Liu," she added, torn between how Heaven would perceive her by her decision and words. "I will understand if you think differently of me now, but I already decided. I want to fight Miss Shen and return all the pain she put me through. I’ll make her regret ever treating me less than a human."
There was a momentary silence that befell the two of them. They just held each other’s gaze with Assistant Lyn’s eyes burning with determination. Meanwhile, Heaven kept a straight face, making one wonder what was on her mind.
"Assistant Lyn, if you plan on getting revenge, why are you telling me this?" Heaven broke the silence with a question. "You know that Paula and I were friends even before we enter the entertainment scene. Even if you say that Paula doesn’t think the same way as I do, I can always deny that and call it slander."
"But you didn’t."
"Hmm?"
Assistant Lyn took another deep breath, eyes fixed on Heaven’s eyes. "When I told you earlier that Miss Shen doesn’t see you as a friend, you didn’t even flinch, Miss Liu. That only tells me you already know that Miss Shen isn’t being true to you."
"Oh?" Heaven blinked, a little impressed at the assistant’s observation skill. But then again, Assistant Lyn should be really observant considering her line of work.
