Chapter 195: How naive, Axel.
It all started when Axel took an interest in an illegal drag race some time ago. Axel’s growing boredom tempted him to race despite his suspension from the professional racetrack.
At first, everything was wonderful and well. He had won a few races and made a small connection with the people in these events.
Until a few days ago, Axel went to this event, where he signed up as one of the participants.
He didn’t expect anything and, knowing him, he was confident about winning again. Little did he know, this confidence had annoyed a few people. Thus, in the middle of racing, he halted when a few cars blocked his path.
That was where the beating happened.
These people, whom Axel defeated in the previous bets, ambushed him. However, these people were aware of which family Axel came from. Therefore, they cleverly hit him in places he could hide.
"Why didn’t you tell your brother?" Heaven asked coldly, staring at the apologetic Axel.
The two of them were still standing outside the vehicle while Axel summarized what happened. Heaven wouldn’t let him go unless he does.
"What would I tell him? That his brother is involved in illegal gambling?" he mumbled, feeling like he was shrinking under her icy gaze. "Do you know what he would do if he heard about this? He’ll kill me."
"That’s better than dying from those guys."
Axel frowned, but he couldn’t rebut her remarks. He was not in the position to be stubborn, knowing Heaven might tattle him to Dominic. Worse. His parents and even Grandma Zhu would hear about this!
