Chapter 174: Accept the inevitable
Axel was so horrified at the turn of events he didn’t even know how they reached the clinic. All he could remember was being carried from the elevator all the way to the building’s clinic. He remembered the strange looks on the people in the lobby, watching how a man like Bear with a wide and towering physique carried him like a princess!
"Hah..." his parted lips grew wider as his face reddened in embarrassment.
SLAP!
Axel flinched when something landed on his forehead with a slapping sound. He snapped his eyes, moving his shaking, wide, unblinking eyes to the person standing beside the bed he was lying on.
"Miriam will come here and bring you some warm soup and food. You should eat and then drink the medicine," said Heaven in one go, crossing her arms under her chest. "You’ll be fine if you just rest more."
"You!" Axel gasped, abruptly sitting upright. "What the hell are you doing? How can you —"
"If you don’t want to be carried by Bear next time, you should’ve gone to the penthouse if you’re not feeling well." Heaven was unfazed, stopping herself to lecture him more harshly. "Just where do you think you’re going in that state? To the convenience store? Don’t you have a medicine kit in your place?"
Axel ground his teeth, clicking his tongue in irritation. "I am fine, okay!? If you think this is enough to take me on your side, you’re wrong! I’ve been independent even before you came to this family — I can take care of myself, alright?!"
"Are you done?" Heaven’s expression grew more indifferent. "If so, rest now and lie down."
