Chapter 127: Unexpected Bonds
Rocco froze in shock as Laxus, without hesitation, transformed back into his humanoid form right there on the Di Malvento estate grounds.
The unexpected sight sent a shiver of surprise through him.
Laxus, however, showed no sign of concern.
With an effortless smile, he pulled Rocco into a tight hug, completely unbothered by the risk of being seen.
Unlike Rocco, who was darting his eyes nervously around their surroundings, Laxus seemed entirely untroubled.
"L-Laxus! If someone catches you, they’ll have us both beaten to a pulp!"
Rocco instinctively grabbed one of Laxus’s fluffy ears, his fingers brushing through the soft fur as he spoke.
Laxus, still smiling brightly, shook his head in reassurance.
"Don’t worry," he said, his tone calm and confident. "I was meeting with your brother today. You know how things have been tense lately between my father and yours, right? We figured as the heirs, we’d step in and handle things since our parents clearly can’t."
At first, Rocco thought Laxus sounded like a dutiful, family-loving son, but by the end of the explanation, it was clear the sentiment was the complete opposite.
Still, the idea of Laxus getting involved in such matters was unexpected.
