Chapter 250: Decision
Rhett POV
We tuck Mimi into bed, her tiny form curled up beneath the thick blankets. She barely stirs, completely knocked out. A full day of running around with the other children had exhausted her, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
With careful steps, I close the door behind us, nodding to Mona as we quietly make our way down the corridor.
And that’s when it happens.
"Harder!"
The words echo from behind a closed door.
Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope.
I speed walk so fast down the hallway, dragging Mona with me as if the ghosts of my ancestors are chasing me.
She lets out a surprised squeak, nearly tripping over her own feet, but I don’t stop. I refuse to stop. We need to leave immediately.
By the time we reach the upper deck, my pulse is still racing, not from exertion but from pure, unfiltered secondhand embarrassment.
We find Raul and Roman seated at a small wooden table, playing cards. Raul looks incredibly focused, while Roman has that smirk—that cunning, I’m-going-to-ruin-your-life smirk—on his face.
