"Are you being serious?"
Rhea’s voice cuts through the air, sharp and disbelieving.
I don’t turn to look at her right away. Instead, my eyes follow the carriage approaching in the distance, its wheels kicking up dust as it nears. Since Thorne left, everyone else associatied with him followed. The Remiro estate—once a place of quiet prestige—feels even colder now. Well, not colder. It’s always been like this.
It’s just... silent.
Specifically, I don’t have an annoying little clown ordering me around anymore.
I sigh, finally shifting my gaze to my twin sister.
"It’s not like I’m leaving forever. It’s just for a while. You know Thorne is teaching me how to control my powers." I shove my hands into my pockets, keeping my tone neutral.
She clicks her tongue in irritation.
"You’ve been weird these past few months. You barely spend time with me. With us. Your actual family."
I clench my jaw. She doesn’t get it. She never will.
