Chapter 210: Raul’s complaints
I have made a mistake. A terrible, terrible mistake.
I should have never agreed to this bet.
Losing was inevitable, sure, but this? This was a punishment worse than death.
With a deep, long-suffering sigh, I grip the reins a little tighter, trying my hardest to ignore the very, very explicit sounds coming from the carriage behind me.
The problem isn’t even that Thorne and Noelle are at it like wild animals—no, I’ve long since accepted that those two are hopeless when it comes to self-control. The problem is that I am the one stuck listening to it.
I click my tongue and flick the reins harder, urging the horses to move faster. The sooner we get to the estate, the sooner this torment will be over.
Roman and Felix are no help. Those two are off in their own little world, completely useless now that they’ve figured out whatever thing they have going on. It’s honestly a miracle they managed to keep it a secret for this long.
Then there’s Leona.
Leona, who might as well be a ghost for how rarely she appears. No, really. She’s like a shadow, slipping in and out of places without a trace. Sometimes I swear she’s standing right behind me, only to turn around and find nothing but empty space. It’s unsettling as hell.
And then there’s me.
Me, sitting here, driving this godforsaken carriage, while my boss defiles his husband in the backseat.
