Fallen General's Omega (BL)

Chapter 196: Peace

I smile at Noelle, who glares at me with flushed cheeks and narrowed eyes. I can’t help but chuckle softly. Maybe I did go a little overboard earlier—in the bathroom, no less. But I can’t resist my husband, not when he’s so stunning, so perfect in every way.

He doesn’t say anything as he checks on Mimi, who’s sound asleep in her crib, tiny and peaceful. Once satisfied, he turns and climbs into bed, slipping effortlessly into my waiting arms.

"Still mad at me, my star?" I tease, letting my fingers trail up to the delicate choker adorning his neck. The cool material contrasts with the warmth of his skin, and I can’t resist brushing my thumb over it.

Noelle remains silent, his lips pressed together in that stubborn way of his, but his eyes betray him.

"It’s unfair to blame me," I continue, a grin tugging at my lips, "when you were a very willing participant, you know."

"Ha. Ha." His sarcasm is sharp, but it only makes me adore him more.

The lamp casts a soft golden glow across his face, highlighting his features—his sharp cheekbones, his tousled hair, and those mesmerizing green eyes that seem to hold entire galaxies. My teasing fades as I stare at him, overwhelmed by the sheer depth of my love for him.

"I love you," I say, my voice low but steady, every word carrying the weight of my feelings.

His green eyes soften, flickering with a mix of curiosity and something else, something tender. I shift closer to him, closing the space between us, and press a kiss to his forehead.
