"Stop right there! Who are you?" One of the soldiers asked.
Xiao Gui stopped, out of breath and looked at the two guarding soldiers. One of the soldiers was taken aback when he saw his face, and asked, "Xiao Gui? Why did you come back alone? Where are the others?"
Another soldier looked at his comrade and asked, "Do you know him?"
The soldier nodded and said, "Yes, he is a young soldier under General Ren. We both worked in kitchens before we transferred to our current positions."
Waving his hand, Xiao Gui was still gasping for breath. Two minutes later, he finally managed to speak out of breath: "I... I need to... to find General Ren. There... is... urgent matter to... to report."
When the two guarding soldiers heard that there was something urgent, they hurriedly let Xiao Gui pass. After being stopped at the entrance of the barrack, Xiao Gui was too tired to walk, but he still ran as fast as he could to Ren Fanyan’s tent persistently. Stopping in front of Ren Fanyan’s tent, Xiao Gui speaks to the two guarding soldiers.
"Brothers, please inform General Ren that Xiao Gui has an urgent report about the matter of buying water." He said after taking a few deep breaths.
One of the soldiers nodded and said, "Wait here."
After speaking, he entered the tent. Not long after, the soldier lifted the curtain and said, "You can go inside."
