Chapter 66: He Is Not Worth It
After Huang Fu left the Defender Army’s barrack with the tax money, Wang Yong looked at Li Zhiyuan who stood there in silence. Wang Yong didn’t know what he was thinking, but just stood behind him without interrupting his thoughts. After standing quietly until the sunset, Li Zhiyuan suddenly opened his mouth.
"Wang Yong, you have been working under me for more than ten years since you joined the army. Do you think I am loyal to the wrong person?" He asked in a low and hoarse voice.
Seeing the sadness and disappointment in Li Zhiyuan’s eyes, Wang Yong silently lowered his head. After a moment of silence, he asked, "General, do you want to hear the truth or polite words?"
Hearing his question, Li Zhiyuan chuckled lightly and said, "Tell me the truth."
Wang Yong raised his head, looked at him and sincerely said, "He is not worth it."
Both of them knew the meaning of Wang Yong’s words, but they didn’t speak any more after that. Unlike the gloomy atmosphere that shrouded the Defender Army’s barrack, Huang Fu’s face was full of smiles. Sitting inside the horse carriage, he opened the curtain, and looked out from the small window. Seeing that the sun was shining brightly but the street was deserted, he frowned unhappily and called the housekeeper.
"Send the one million taels of silver to Left Prime Minister Yang’s residence, and send the rest to the hidden village." He ordered calmly.
The housekeeper nodded and said, "Yes, Master."
Before the housekeeper took a few steps away, he called him back.
