Chapter 140 - 140
[Author quitted! THE END]
Aishi glanced at Yun. "Do you remember roughly what they looked like?"
Yun slowly shook her head. "Not very clearly… only that they were very tall, and wore black robes…"
Aishi lowered his eyes, sinking into thought.
So strong—and so ruthless. Why would they do this?
What was the motive?
Killing for the sake of killing?
What did they seek?
His brows knit tighter.
Yun didn't interrupt him. She simply waited quietly…
Aishi looked back up. "Forgive the direct question—what was your master's name? If it's inconvenient, you don't have to say."
Yun shook her head. "It's fine. My master's name was Xixila."
Xixila?
Aishi shook his head—unfamiliar. He truly had no impression of that name.
"Do you know her identity?" Aishi asked.
Yun frowned slightly. She really didn't know anything concrete—only that her master appeared one day and took her as a disciple.
"I'll ask Shenron for you," Aishi said.
Conveniently, he had already re-collected the seven Dragon Balls since the last wish. He could inquire now.
Yun looked puzzled, then nodded. "Alright."
Aishi smiled, went inside, and brought out seven golden Dragon Balls.
He set them down and said evenly, "Come forth and grant my wish—Shenron!"
At the side, Yun blinked. Is… that how you ask for a wish?
She let it slide—he was absurdly strong, after all.
A golden pillar shot to the heavens, piercing the clouds. Blinding light burst outward, and within hundreds of miles the sky dimmed in an instant.
Then, a vast green dragon unfurled in the air, coiling high above. Majestic beyond words.
Shenron!
Shenron clearly recognized Aishi.
"Lord Time Destroyer—welcome."
Aishi nodded. Always nice when people knew him wherever he went.
"Help me look into someone," he said.
"At once," Shenron replied. "If it lies within my power, I will do my utmost!"
"Do you know Xixila of Universe 5?"
"Xixila…?" Shenron paused, as if something occurred to him. Then he shook his head quickly. "I do not."
Aishi's eyes narrowed. "Shenron… tell the truth."
Tell the truth.
Shenron hesitated, voice tinged with embarrassment. "It is not that I refuse… there are prohibitions binding me."
"Bound by taboo?" Aishi asked.
"This too I cannot say," Shenron answered.
"Last question," Aishi said. "Is Xixila outside the current twelve universes?"
Shenron brightened—that he could answer. "Yes."
"So that's how it is." Aishi nodded.
"You may go."
Shenron let out a subtle breath of relief. "Yes, Lord Time Destroyer!"
In a flash, his titanic form dispersed into seven streaks of light that shot toward the earth. The sky cleared at once and sunlight poured back down.
On the ground, Yun looked deeply at Aishi. Time Destroyer…?
Now she finally understood why he was so overwhelmingly strong.
She hesitated, then spoke up. "Aishi… I want to ask you to find the mastermind behind it all. I'm too weak. I don't even know who did it."
"No problem," Aishi said with a nod.
Joy flickered across Yun's face. "Thank you!"
She reached to her waist, carefully produced a small item, and handed it to him.
"This is my payment."
Aishi accepted it, curious. A small golden necklace, faintly fragrant—as if freshly worn.
"What is it?"
"My master left it to me," Yun said with a soft smile. "There's a special energy inside. At a critical moment, it can block a lethal blow."
Special energy… Aishi examined the necklace.
There was indeed a hidden, faint current—extremely powerful.
He narrowed his eyes. Worth studying.
"And you're just giving this to me?" he asked.
Yun gave a bitter little smile. "Clinging to it to eke out a life… I'd rather trade it for any clue about her."
The moment she saw Aishi, she'd felt he could do it.
Suppressing all Gods of Destruction with one hand—what ordinary person could manage that?
Angels could, perhaps—but she doubted an angel would help her.
"Alright," Aishi said. "Then it's settled."
—
Time flashed forward to the day of the Dimensional Tournament. Everyone rose early to prepare.
Aishi was no exception.
Though contestants could bring family and friends to watch, he ultimately decided not to let 18, 21, or Tais go.
If an accident happened… it would be bad.
Instead, he made several small buttons and gave one each to 18, 21, and Tais. In an emergency, pressing it would instantly teleport him back to them.
The principle wasn't complicated—if you had enough mastery over time-space, it was doable.
Outskirts of West City.
The final roster spot had been decided—Frieza!
As for Jiren… rumor had it he'd shut himself away.
Vegeta eyed Frieza and felt a sudden tightness in his chest.
He looked to Beerus. "This guy can really be our teammate?"
Beerus chuckled. "Don't worry. Frieza shouldn't cause trouble… right?"
His gaze slid to Frieza.
Frieza offered an awkward little smile. "But of course, Lord Beerus. Please don't test me further—I am ever loyal to proper order."
Beerus nodded in satisfaction. After last time, Frieza had become much more… sensible.
Goku cracked his knuckles, eyes shining. "I wonder what the other timelines' teams will be like! I can't hold back the excitement anymore…"
"Don't get careless," Beerus said, rolling his eyes.
Just then, two figures descended from the sky—Aishi and Yun.
After quick greetings, no one wasted time. They each picked up the transfer buttons—it was time to go.
(These were transfer buttons personally provided by the Grand Priest. The location was far too remote for the gods to escort everyone by normal means.)
"Everyone here?" Beerus asked.
"We're all set!" Goku grinned.
Aishi swept his gaze around—Krillin, Piccolo… everyone present.
Because of the tournament's scale, the Grand Priest hadn't set a strict headcount limit this time—as many as your side could field and coordinate.
Thunk!
Buttons were pressed. Everyone vanished from where they stood.
—
Temporal Stratum.
A rare region nestled in the fissures between multiverses—space here was exceedingly strange.
Several silhouettes awaited.
On the highest seat sat Zeno. In front of him stood two tall, straight-backed guards, faces impassive, gazing forward.
Below them, the Grand Priest worked, arranging the arena.
First, the spectator terraces—immense and elevated, perfect for viewing the tournament.
The main ring was likewise colossal—ten thousand kilometers across—its exact center marked by a giant pillar symbolizing Time.
Each faction had its own ready area for rest and prep.
The Grand Priest surveyed his work and nodded. "Good. No need to change anything."
He clapped once. "Unify."
At once, all structures drew together, becoming tighter, cleaner—perfect.
With the arena complete, the Grand Priest smiled.
Before long, the teams arrived.
Every ready area was labeled with its timeline's sequence code.
Aishi scanned the surroundings. Aside from his own side, every other universe's roster was already full.
He was placed right at the center.
Ignoring the stares, Aishi turned his gaze toward the other participating timelines.
First to catch his eye—Goku in a blue gi, with his party behind him.
Aishi narrowed his eyes. Blue gi?
That was a finale-era getup.
Interesting… not to be underestimated.
That timeline's eight fighters were: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Broly, Trunks, Pan, Frieza, and Uub.
Aishi's eyes cooled—every aura there was refined and high-dimensional.
He shifted to the next timeline.
This was the Super Timeline he'd seen during the battle with Demon Realm forces. Their eight: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Jiren, Toppo, Hit…
Aishi glanced once and looked away. Compared to the first, this lineup was weaker.
Next—Vegito's timeline.
He looked toward Vegito and found the fusion warrior already watching him.
They met each other's eyes and shared a faint smile.
Vegito's side boasted Vegito and Kefla as standouts; the rest were roughly similar to the previous two.
Next—the GT Timeline.
By now, they should be at the Shadow Dragons arc, right?
After all, they had gone with Shenron to the Realm of the Dragon God.
The stage was set. The air itself seemed to tighten—
The Tournament… was about to begin.
