Kakashi: Godless Ascension

Chapter 275 - 275: Ch275: Uchiha Clan

The echoing grumbles of Madara and the soft, circular despair of Hashirama faded into the hum of teleportation. Kakashi and Ameha emerged not into sterile light or training-ground dust, but onto a quiet, meticulously clean street lined with traditional-style homes bearing the distinctive uchiwa fan emblem.

This was the Uchiha district, but it was a world apart from the tense, prideful enclave of the old Uchiha.

Gone was the palpable atmosphere of simmering grievance and cloaked superiority. The streets were alive with normalcy, children playing a game that involved throwing shuriken at painted targets with impressive accuracy, women chatting on porches while tending to small gardens of herbs and night-blooming flowers, the smell of grilled fish and miso soup wafting from open windows.

The Uchiha here were still proud, still formidable, but the pride was no longer a brittle shield. Itachi's legacy, in his own uniquely charming way, was a prolific contributor to the clan's reproduction. They were part of the fabric of Konoha, not a faction set against it.

Two clansmen standing guard at the entrance to the main residential lane spotted Kakashi. Instead of cold scrutiny or wary respect, they offered genuine smiles and respectful nods. "Hatake-sama, Director. Welcome."

Kakashi returned the nod, and he and Ameha proceeded down the lane to a spacious, elegant home. Before he could knock, the door slid open.

Shizune stood there, her dark hair shorter now, practical and stylish, her kind eyes crinkling at the corners. She wore a simple yukata, a faint smudge of flour on her cheek suggesting interrupted baking.

"Kakashi-sensei! Ameha-chan! What a lovely surprise." Her voice was warm, carrying the gentle strength that had always been her hallmark. "Please, come in."

They stepped into a genkan that was orderly but lived-in, shoes neatly arranged beside small sandals and tiny ninja boots. The living room was sunlit and comfortable. Two children looked up from a low table where they were assembling a complex-looking puzzle map of the Five Nations.

A girl, about twelve, with raven-black hair cut in a sharp bob and large, intelligent dark eyes that held a familiar intensity. Naturally, she had no glasses that obscured her gaze. This was Sarada Uchiha.

Beside her, a boy a year or two younger, his hair similarly dark but messier, his expression a perfect miniature of a certain brooding aloofness. This was Izuna, named for the uncle Sasuke had never known but had come to understand.

"Uncle Kakashi!" Sarada said, her voice polite but bright. She stood and offered a perfect bow.

Izuna followed suit, a little more reserved. "Big Sis Ameha," he added quietly, his eyes darting to the silver-haired director with a mix of curiosity and awe.

Before Kakashi could respond, the air in the center of the room rippled. A vertical slit of darkness tore open silently, and Sasuke Uchiha stepped through, the purple hues of his Rinnegan fading in his left eye as the portal sealed behind him. He was dressed in simple, dark travel clothes, a slight weariness around his eyes that vanished the moment they landed on his family.

"Sensei," he greeted Kakashi, a small, genuine smile touching his lips, a sight that would have shocked the shinobi world of two decades past. He moved immediately to Shizune, giving her a quick hug and a kiss on the flour-dusted cheek, then ruffled Sarada's hair and placed a hand on Izuna's shoulder.

The domesticity suited him; the last vestiges of the vengeful avenger had been sanded away by time, family, and hard-won peace.

"Sasuke," Kakashi returned. "Just came from Naruto's. Wanted to give you the news personally. The council's decision is formal. He becomes the Seventh Hokage next week."

Sasuke's smile widened, a hint of his old rivalry sparking in his eyes. "Finally. Took that loser long enough to realize his dream." There was no malice in the words, only deep, abiding affection and the satisfaction of seeing a lifelong promise fulfilled. Read complete versıon only at Novᴇl_Fire(.)net

Shizune, setting down a tray of tea, rolled her eyes fondly. "He's been 'that loser' who saved the world with you how many times now, dear?"

"Doesn't make him less of a loser," Sasuke said matter-of-factly, accepting a cup from his wife.

As they settled, Kakashi's tone shifted subtly, from familial to operational. "There's another matter. Ameha's network has been tracking a group called Kara. Their technology, their objectives… they're not of this world. I need your eyes on it."

Ameha, sipping her tea, stiffened almost imperceptibly. Her head turned slightly towards her father, her dark eyes widening a fraction. 'He already knows.' She had compiled a preliminary report, but it was still being finalized, its distribution list limited to herself and her most trusted analysts.

Yet here he was, stating it as an established fact. A wave of sheer admiration washed over her. 'As expected of him. The intelligence web he weaves… I can't even see its full extent.'

Sasuke nodded, his expression turning serious, the Sharingan in his right eye activating for a brief moment, spinning slowly. "I've sensed… disturbances. Advanced technology is being used, and apart from us no one else should have the ability to produce such technology. I think an Ōtsutsuki is behind it."

"Not just any Ōtsutsuki," Kakashi said, his voice dropping. "His name is Ishiki. He arrived with Kaguya, millennia ago. His plan was to use her as the sacrifice to the God Tree, to have the chakra fruit for himself."

Shizune gasped softly, her hand going to her mouth. Sarada and Izuna listened with rapt, solemn attention.

"Kaguya," Kakashi continued, "had other ideas. She attacked him, tore his physical form apart. But she underestimated him. He possesses a dangerous ability, the power to shrink himself to a microscopic scale. In that state, he invaded the body of a nearby monk through his ear. He's been lying dormant, planting a Karma seal on a suitable vessel to resurrect himself fully."

Sasuke's Rinnegan glimmered. He knew all too well what Karma was, a forced reincarnation, a parasite of the soul. "A coward's tactic," he stated, his voice cold. "Hiding in the shadows, using others as spare flesh. Don't worry, Sensei. I'll find him. I'll deal with it."

Kakashi nodded. He trusted that implicitly. This Sasuke, tempered by a full life, empowered by years of training without the burden of hatred, and backed by a bond with Naruto that was stronger than ever, was magnitudes more powerful than his canon counterpart.

A weakened, incomplete Ishiki would be a challenge, but not an insurmountable one for the world's foremost otherworldly threat specialist.

But Kakashi's gaze was set on a farther horizon. Ishiki was a lingering pest, a loose end. What he truly awaited was the trio he knew was coming, drawn by the energy signature of a matured Divine Tree and the absence of a harvest report. Momoshiki, Kinshiki, and Urashiki. Pure, unadulterated Ōtsutsuki, ripe with genetic data and celestial chakra.

'If the Genesis Seal devours Momoshiki or Urashiki…' he thought, the idea of a dark, thrilling current beneath his calm exterior.

'The power boost would be exponential. Not just an increase, but an evolution. I could solidify this era's peace for ten thousand years. I could reach beyond this planet, secure our system.' It was a hunter's anticipation, patient and cold.

After a while longer, discussing lighter topics, Sarada's progress in medical ninjutsu under her mother, Izuna's fascination with lightning-nature transformations, Kakashi rose. "We should get going. Ameha is officially on mandatory leave, and I intend to enforce it."

Sasuke smirked. "Good luck with that." He'd seen Ameha's single-minded focus firsthand.

With final farewells to the Uchiha family, Kakashi placed a hand on his daughter's shoulder. The cozy, tea-scented living room of the Uchiha compound dissolved, leaving behind the clan reborn in peace and the silent, watchful promise of its strongest son, his eyes already scanning the unseen dimensions for a trace of shrinking, parasitic god.
