Chapter 7 - .7 Daisy [18+]
The night air outside the Yun estate was crisp and quiet. Jason stepped into the backseat of the black sedan waiting by the gate, his jacket folded neatly in his lap. He didn’t say much during the drive home, not because he didn’t have things to say—but because he had too much on his mind.
He looked down at his hand, the faint memory of the jade flickering in his thoughts. No weight, no glow—just silence now. Still, whatever the return ended up being... it would be worth it.
By the time he got back to his villa on the edge of the city, the moon was high. The property wasn’t huge by wealthy standards, but it was private and well-kept—high walls, security detail, and Daisy.
His assistant.
Well. Technically the assistant assigned to him by the family.
Every member. Of the Yun family has one. Daisy had been with Jason for a total of three years .
He unlocked the door, nodded at the security team posted at the front, and went inside. The villa was quiet—Daisy had probably gone to bed already.
Jason took a shower, changed into a loose T-shirt and shorts, and collapsed into bed. His muscles ached from the tension of the evening. His mind, however, didn’t shut off as easily.
"So much in one day," he muttered, folding his arms behind his head. "Used the jade... took over the Han project... called off the engagement... and that whole mess with the Son girl..."
That thought lingered. The heiress he saved.
The quiet way fate was moving behind the curtain.
