Chapter 45: Neutralization, and Initiation
"Mr. Zakhrov, you are here to answer questions regarding your plans to redevelop the St. Ignatius Academy district, and the allegations of gentrification and oppression of minority communities," said Senator Goldberg, as she sat down at the head of the long table in the senate hearing room.
Aaron pulled out his laptop and started typing away on it, completely ignoring her.
"Mr. Zakhrov, are you even listening to me?" shouted Monica.
Aaron continued typing, unfazed by her outburst. The doors to the hearing room opened, and Andre entered, followed by Natasha, Olga, and the six law-bunnies.
The sound of titanium stiletto high heels striking the tiled floor echoed through the room, as they walked in perfect unison.
"What is the meaning of this? Who are these people?" shouted Monica over the loud clip-clopping, as she glared at the newcomers.
"I am Mr. Zakhrov’s legal representative, and I will be handling your questions, Senator Goldberg," said Andre, as he sat down next to Aaron.
The law-bunnies took their seats, flanking the two men with three on each side, with Natasha and Olga being at the ends of the table.
"Mr. Zakhrov, you are not allowed to bring your own legal team to a senate hearing," shouted Monica, her face flushed with anger.
"Mr. Zakhrov is a private citizen, and at 18 years of age, is still entitled to have his parents or legal guardians present, and I am his legal guardian," shot back Andre.
"Mr. Zakhrov has been emancipated and is therefore a full legal adult! He can answer for himself!" snarled Monica.
