Chapter 40: A Weird Professor
After finishing up the broadcasting, Kieran got a call from an unknown number. What prompted him to pick it was because it belonged to a business.
He put the phone close up only to hear the voice of someone he hadn’t expected to call so soon. It was Mrs Jackson. She asked to meet for a discussion, and Kieran accepted — because why not?
He would have asked for that if she hadn’t, to begin with. Because he needed to let her on considering the real plan — to give her a choice, either to still remain in that company by working for him, or continue targeting the two girls.
Well, the second choice was definitely a no-go, because business comes first. Money and future comes before anything else.
Moments after the call ended, with Jaxon and his crew members leaving as well, Amanda suddenly appeared inside the room.
She breathed in deeply, and even Kieran turned in surprise with the frustrated frown on her face. Unknown to him, she just had the worst moment of her life in the course of remaining loyal to him.
Because, Robert Holland, that everyone who works for Kieran Holland address as the chairman, had asked Amanda,
"I heard you’re second to none when it comes to knowing about your boss’s activities. What transpired between him and Mrs Jackson who lost her company to him lately?"
Amanda had held her breath — replying this man words for words had even been a trial of bravery, the syllabus twisting in her mouth before she could force them out and her chest aching. He was just the person he was. But whatsoever, Amanda refused to tell him anything about that.
