Chapter 33: Make an SOS report!
As the words slipped Amanda’s lips, Tiffany broke loose. She yelped aloud, covering her face with her palms, probably weeping — as Jaxon thought. But just like at Aria’s funeral, Eve still tried hold back her tears, her anxiety amidst a mask of worry.
If the guys were really coming after them, they knew more than anyone there wasn’t no fib to it. They would do their thing and waste them without a second blink — not at all when they killed their colleague too, giving a nonchalant attitude at the end.
But calming them down, Kieran took it from where Amanda stopped, "And this is why we’re here." He said, and both friends glanced up at him. "They might be after you for no other reason than the fact that you know a lot about them for common civilians.
And gangs that operate underground won’t want someone who knows their secrets being alive freely in the outside world. This is what we have seen in movies and documentaries. They either kill you or imprison you. But whatever move they might wanna make, this is why we’re here. To weigh things together, and keep you guys safe..."
Tiffany immediately asked, teary eyes filled with desperation and anxiety, "W-what do we have to do? We will do anything you ask us to..."
Kieran shot a second glance at Amanda before she brought out two black wrist watches and placed them on the crystalline table. Kieran went on to explain these devices could provide SOS reports at any time, so, this is where their plan begins.
"Today is almost a week from when that incidence happened. And you might have been noticing some strange people around you..."
"Yes, I do!" Eve proclaimed in a loud tone, breathing sharply at the end.
Everyone’s eyes stayed on her for seconds while she had lowered her head in silent reasoning, clearly trying to bring the pieces together.
And when it seemed she had done so, she voiced out, "It’s mostly around the alleyway from school, because, you know, my house is very close to our school. S-so... Whenever I pass around there... um, I am not sure if I am just assuming things or not...
B-but I do notice some two guys having a smoke just by the corner I would take ahead. They were definitely older than high school students, so it’s not possible they were among the bullies that had fun beating us back then..."
