Chapter 21: A Death Sentence
Weeks after weeks, days slipping by the hands of time itself, yet the public weren't done with the talk of Mr Stamps. The reporters said he tried to murder a public figure, who happened to be the same new heir they got to know about around a month ago.
Kieran Holland.
People said Mr Stamps was definitely jealous of Mr Holland's wealth... but on a more considerable level, others spoke about the fact that Mr Holland himself pulled the trigger first. That he didn't do right by handling Mr Stamps' shares to his divorced wife. Maybe they were right. Maybe not.
But... what do they know about business? It's not about morality, but survival while making profits.
One would expect Kieran Holland to come to the public arguing the same fact, but surprising everyone, he said he won't press charges against Mr Stamps. That they only got into an argument that required physical combat, but no one made a murder attempt.
Was Kieran suddenly sympathising with the man and putting himself in his shoes? Who knows?
Kieran's lawyer said the same thing to the prosecution, and they couldn't prove it wrong as there were no CCTVs near the port where everything happened. That was how Mr Blanks got away with it.
Well, the right way to say it was how he almost got away.
Because after the charges were dropped, the police investigated further by questioning the thugs. The room was dimly lit with just a spotlight casting on the two men from the low ceiling. An inspector sat palm-crossed before the chubby man and asked why he and his colleague had murdered Mr Holland's bodyguards.
