Chapter 13: Sophia... You’re danger
A day ago, when Kieran decided to get a better card, he headed nowhere but Miss Ana's restaurant. That was after calling Jaxon to meet him there. His request was:
"Can you help me find these people's information tonight?" as he pushed the list of the ten majority shareholders to him. He knew he had played a dirty game on them already, so they would surely want to vote against him on the meeting day. And he should break their egos.
Jaxon looked so confused he could tear Kieran open for answers. But all in all, he fished out their information – place of residence, spouses, hobbies, and a pinch of salt on personalities. He wasn't a reporter for no reason.
And watching the shareholders put down their votes on their iPads inside the conference room, Kieran just hoped he would get the scapegoat he wanted.
As a matter of fact, it was at the same moment Mrs. Ava knew there would be no green tech investment. From the mouth of the plotter himself. But in spite of her anger, she had no choice. It was either to go green or suffer more losses.
'Hell... an almost bankrupt company is a hassle to begin with!' she raged inside as she pressed the green button.
Of course, there were stooges. Shareholders present at the meeting and some local investors from other cities. And as Kieran promised, they were out of the list. To instill more anger in Mr. Stamps, the one he offered fake bribery to, Kieran said,
"Don't worry – only you still remain in the empire even when you voted against me. A couple's possession is for both of them, right?"
It took a second before the realization sank in, and Mr. Stamps slammed the table in rage. The room was already in turmoil and noise, so no one cares who adds fuel to the fire.
