Chapter 192: A night in two
Trevor lifted his head, eyes catching the dim light, storm-dark and molten at once. "I won’t," he said simply, the promise soft and absolute.
And then he kissed him again, slower, deeper, letting the warmth of his pheromones curl around them both until the world beyond their bed ceased to exist. The book, the night, the threats, all of it dissolved, leaving only the rhythm of their breathing and the steady press of Trevor’s hands, holding him like he already had all the time in the world to pay whatever price love demanded.
Lucas could feel Trevor’s restraint unraveling in the slow drag of his lips, in the way those hands gripped his waist like Trevor was reminding himself he could hold on. It had been too long, too many nights interrupted by plans, schemes, and guests.
But here, now, there was only them.
Lucas shifted, still straddling Trevor’s lap, his fingers sliding from damp hair down along Trevor’s neck, tracing the lines of muscle and skin. His green eyes caught Trevor’s storm-dark gaze, daring him, promising him, pulling him deeper.

Then, with a sharp little grin, Lucas pushed.
Trevor’s back hit the mattress with a muffled thud, the pillows dipping under his weight as his towel loosened and slipped, forgotten, to the floor. Trevor’s eyes widened for only a fraction of a second before narrowing with a hunger that made Lucas’s breath catch.
Lucas leaned over him, hair falling forward as he braced a hand against the sheets, the other tugging at his own shirt. "You’ve been thinking too much," Lucas murmured, his voice low, coaxing, and electric. "Time to think about me."
Trevor’s hand shot up, gripping his hip, but he didn’t stop him. He watched instead, watched every movement, every flicker of light across Lucas’s skin, as Lucas slid his shirt over his head and let it fall beside the bed.
The lamplight kissed the pale lines of his shoulders, the steady rise and fall of his chest, and the defined curve of his waist. Trevor’s breath hitched audibly, violet eyes fixed on him with something between reverence and raw want.
