Chapter 80 - Eighty: Lyra II
I let out a long, slow sigh, leaning back in the chair and pushing my empty plate away. The encounter with Lyra had left a strange buzz in the air, but the mundane weight of my labor was a familiar anchor.
"I’ve been thinking," I said, rolling a tense shoulder. "I’ve been here... what, two weeks? Fucking morning, noon, and night. Pretty sure I’ve got ninety percent of your beastkin population pregnant at this point. You could open a petting zoo."
Vesper, who was still vibrating with residual fury, slowly let the cold anger melt into a different, colder smile. She leaned back, tracing the rim of her teacup with a fingertip. "You are such a hard worker~ I know." She let the praise hang for a second, then her expression iced over completely. Her heterochromatic eyes locked onto mine like twin gun sights. "And all that hard work still doesn’t buy you a single, fucking step closer to that silver-haired slut. You look at her again the way you just did, and I’ll carve out that ’hard-working’ dick of yours with a spoon and use it as a personal masturbation toy until it’s a desiccated husk. Are we perfectly, utterly understood?"
I held up my hands in surrender, my smile lazy. "Understood~ She’s poison, she’s Dorian’s, hands off, eyes to myself. Got it."
Vesper watched me for a moment longer, her suspicion lingering. Then, as if flicking a switch, the icy demeanor shifted again. It was a disturbing, fascinating transformation. The anger bled away, replaced by a slow, predatory gleam.
She stood up. Instead of walking around the table, she placed her hands flat on the polished wood and crawled across it toward me. Her movements were fluid, sinuous, deliberately provocative. She stopped when her face was inches from mine, the scent of her perfume... spice and frost started filling my senses.
She leaned down until her lips brushed the shell of my ear. Her whisper was a warm, husky promise laced with threat. "If you behave perfectly today... if that noble bitch doesn’t see a single hint of your appetite..." She paused, letting her breath ghost over my skin. "I’ll sit on your face tonight. Let you taste what you’ve been working so hard to earn. I might even let you use your tongue. Properly."
"...!!?"
The offer was so sudden, so specific, so violently at odds with her threats of mutilation from three seconds prior, that my brain short-circuited. All thoughts of Lyra, of Dorian, of anything else evaporated.
"Deal!!" The word shot out of my mouth before I could even think, my voice tinged with a frankly embarrassing level of eagerness.
Vesper pulled back, a victorious, wicked smirk curling her lips. She looked down at me, her eyes half-lidded with amusement. "Good boy," she purred, before gracefully sliding off the table. She straightened her dress, the picture of aristocratic composure once more, and walked out of the dining hall without a backward glance, leaving me alone with a racing heart, a painfully renewed erection, and the ironclad determination to be the most well-behaved, invisible stud in the history of the realm for the next twelve hours. Her asshole might be the final prize, but her pussy on my face? That was a milestone worth any amount of temporary saintliness.

The day passed with a strained, monastic quiet. The rabbitkins, their bellies now softly rounded, waddled up to me with hopeful, lust-glazed eyes, begging for "just one more breeding, hubby~" and pouting when I gently but firmly refused. I had a strict, self-imposed quota of no fucking today. My mind was a broken record, a single mantra drowning out all other urges:
’Vesper’s ass. Vesper’s ass. Soft and big and round. Don’t fuck it up. Vesper’s ass.’
I became a ghost in the manor. I steered clear of the beastkin pens, the servant corridors, anywhere I might cause a scene or be tempted. I even spent an hour polishing some of the ogre-kin’s harnesses, just to stay occupied and out of trouble.
It wasn’t easy. My body had become accustomed to a constant rhythm of release, and the ghostly, lustful whispers were quieter today, but still a persistent itch under my skin. I focused my mind like a laser on a single, powerful image, repeating it like a mantra again:
’Vesper’s ass. Vesper’s ass. Vesper’s ass. Soft. Big. Round. On my face.’
It became my prayer, my motivation, the religious text of my temporary celibacy.

In the late afternoon, bored with my own quarters and the now-familiar stables, I wandered toward the mansion’s western wing. I’d heard there were gardens... extensive, private ones... but I’d never seen them. My life here had been a circuit between bedroom, dining hall, and beastkin pens.
Pushing through a heavy, vine-covered archway, I stepped into a different world.
Sunlight dappled through ancient, carefully pruned trees. The air was thick with the scent of blooming night-flowers and damp earth. Stone paths wound between manicured hedges and bubbling fountains. It was a pocket of peace, utterly alien to the rest of the estate.
I rounded a corner of a tall, green topiary shaped like a rearing horse, and nearly walked into her.
And there she was.
Lyra Lysander. She was standing by a marble bench, gently touching the petals of a strange, silver-veined orchid. She wore a simple pale green day dress, her moonlight hair loose around her shoulders. The late sun gilded her, making her look less like a person and more like a figurine made of pearl and light.
She looked up as I entered, and a smile bloomed on her face. It was... disarming. Not the playful, teasing smirk from breakfast. This one seemed genuine, touched with pleasant surprise. She waved, a small, graceful motion.
"Oh! Noel." She waved, a small, friendly gesture. "Out for a walk? It’s a beautiful day." Her voice was soft, blending with the garden’s quiet.
I nodded, my internal mantra kicking into overdrive. ’Ass ass ass ass ass.’
"Just exploring. Haven’t seen much of the place." I said, shoving my hands in my pockets.
"Neither have I, really," she said, her smile softening. "It’s quite overwhelming. Would you... walk with me for a bit? I’d love a guide who isn’t one of Vesper’s terrifying guards."
It was a direct request. Politeness, and the deal with Vesper, warred for a second. Politeness and a deep, unsettling curiosity... won. "Sure."
We fell into step along the gravel path. The silence was less tense than it had been at breakfast. She seemed... easier out here.
"So," she began, her voice conversational. "You and my brother. At the academy. It must be... interesting."
"He finds me vulgar," I said honestly.
"He finds most things that aren’t pre-approved to be vulgar," she replied with a light laugh. She glanced at me. "And your family? Your house?"
"Common. No house. Just... me." I shrugged.
I didn’t mention anything about the Vellmont family.
"Just you," she repeated, as if tasting the idea. "That sounds... freeing."
We talked. She asked about the academy, about my "work" here with a polite, non-judgmental curiosity that felt miles away from Vesper’s transactional scrutiny or Dorian’s disdain. I gave her vague, half-true answers. She, in turn, offered tidbits about the stifling atmosphere of the Lysander estate, the endless social functions, her mother’s "exacting standards." She delivered it with a wry, self-deprecating humor that made her seem... real. Normal. Almost.
"And your sisters?" I asked at one point.
"Elara is fierce. She’ll probably end up leading a coup one day. Selene is... quiet. She sees everything and says nothing." Lyra’s smile turned a little sad. "We all have our roles to play."
She asked about the beastkin, not with lewd interest, but with a kind of anthropological curiosity. "What are they like? Truly? Not as... mates, but as people?"
The question threw me. I told her about the lamia’s dry, sarcastic wit, the lynx-girl’s proud attitude, even the rabbitkins’ simple, joyful greed. She listened, truly listened, her silver eyes intent.
When I finished a story about the drake-kin trying to bargain for extra rations by warming my bed, she laughed. It wasn’t the practiced, tinkling laugh from breakfast. It was a real, sudden, bright sound that lit up her whole face. Her eyes crinkled at the corners. She looked... beautiful. Truly, unguardedly beautiful. For a second, the mantra in my head stuttered.
’Vesper’s ass is... Wait... She’s...? No! No! Fuck!! VESPER’S ASS!! Vesper’s big, pale, perfect, promised ass! Squishy and round!’
I mentally screamed the image into the forefront of my mind, using it as a shield against the dangerous, genuine charm of the girl walking beside me. I focused on the memory of Vesper’s threat, the promise of her taste. I clung to it like a holy text.
Lyra’s smile faded back to its usual gentle curve as our walk brought us to another fountain. "Thank you for the company, Noel. And the stories. It was... refreshing." Her silver eyes held mine for a moment, sincere. "I hope we can talk again."
I just nodded, my brain still chanting its protective, perverse mantra. "Sure."
She turned and walked back towards the mansion, her silver hair streaming behind her like a banner. I stood by the fountain, watching her go, the evening air cool on my skin, my mind a battlefield between the clear, simple prize of Vesper’s body and the complicated, dangerous allure of her fiancé’s sister. The deal was safe. My behavior was impeccable. But the garden, and the girl in it, had just made the waiting a lot harder.
