Seth stirred awake in the swaying night caravan. Sitting up carefully, he made sure not to disturb the two other passengers who were still curled up asleep under threadbare blankets. His eyes adjusted quickly to the dim light filtering through the narrow gaps in the window curtains. Judging by the bumps in the road, they hadn’t arrived at Arthuri yet.
Quietly, he fished a folded parchment from his bag: the beast-hunting contract he’d picked up from the Adventurers Guild’s outpost before leaving.
