Chapter 114: Senior Brothers of the Xuan Sect
Wen Qing was completely miserable, crying out in pain, “Ow, ow, ow, ow! Senior brothers, what are you doing?! Let me go! My immortal bones are about to break! I’m your junior brother, remember? Even if you have to beat me, could you at least not use the magic weapons I gave you?!” He was an old man already—his bones couldn’t take this!
The others ignored his wailing. A middle-aged immortal grabbed him by the collar and yanked him off the ground. “Why were you running? We’ve been waiting here for days! The moment you saw us, you turned tail and fled. What are you hiding that you’re so afraid to see us?”
“Nothing!” Wen Qing protested loudly. “Seventh Senior Brother, don’t wrong me! I just didn’t notice you, that’s all! How was I supposed to know you’d attack first and ask questions later? But since it’s family, I won’t hold it against you—now hurry up and take off this Binding Immortal Chain, would you?” If they kept him tied up like this, he wasn’t giving them the Xuanxin Sutra Analysis!
But no one moved to untie him. “Then tell us,” the man demanded, “where have you been hiding these past few days?”
“I… I was out cultivating!” Wen Qing’s eyes darted, and he quickly said, “You all know my cultivation isn’t as high as yours, so I thought I’d go train and improve a little! Traveling outside helps with enlightenment, you know, so I—”
“Bullshit!” the man snapped, cutting him off. He glared fiercely. “You’re lying. You’re clearly guilty of something! I ought to beat the truth out of you!”
“It’s true!” Wen Qing was on the verge of tears.
A younger-looking man stepped forward and caught the middle-aged immortal’s fist, stopping him. “Seventh Junior Brother, calm down,” he said in a low, even tone. “Let’s hear what he has to say about Master first.”
The middle-aged man froze mid-motion, then shot Wen Qing another glare. “You almost distracted me. Speak! What was that message you sent us a few days ago supposed to mean?”
