The Nightmare Wizard

Chapter 114 — Level 2 Healing Potion

William appeared in his room, sitting on his bed in the exact same position he had left. Everything looked exactly the same, and even the marks he made on the doors were there, meaning no one had tried to enter to look for him. With a deep sigh, he relaxed. Every second spent next to Anubis had been truly tense; he didn’t know if that oath could stop Anubis if he truly wanted to kill him.

Angel spoke to him in his mind once more, a sign that she had returned safely from the nightmare world. Her voice had grown sweeter with each passing day; that cold, emotionless artificial intelligence had been left behind, giving way to a new entity that wasn’t yet a living being, but was no longer a machine.

"Can you believe everything that’s happened?", William asked.

"It’s been too strange, but in the end, it turned out well. Now we have a powerful bodyguard," Angel replied.

"Your power has grown immensely. Your stats almost tripled with the absorption of the lizard, and that’s not counting the Sword of Chaos and the Void Sword Technique. They’re too powerful. Perhaps it’s the greatest loot, but you must be careful, William. You can’t be overconfident; everything seems too good to be true."

William sighed, holding his head: "I know. Everything I touch in that world seems to have consequences, and the power I depend on isn’t mine, but also... every situation I’ve been through there strengthens me more than any training in this place. If it weren’t for everything we’ve experienced there, I wouldn’t be able to defend myself, and right now we’re surrounded by enemies."

Angel looked at him with a serious expression: "You’re right about that; we are currently in the most dangerous place of all."

William fell silent for a few seconds, until he asked: "What time is it?"

Angel turned her head towards the room’s entrance, saying: "It’s daytime. They’re probably already moving around here."
