Solo Leveling: Digispirit.

A/N: Hello guys, sorry for the delay! I got trapped in something called Monster Hunter Wilds, so well... I’m pretty sure you all understand hahaha. I have to say, it was really enjoyable, but easier than World. That’s probably the only bad thing about it, but whatever hahaha.

So yeah, that’s what happened. But to make up for it, today you’re getting a double Chapter!

Takuya explained the experience he had gone through during the time he had disappeared, how he had ended up spending much longer than expected inside the dungeon, and even mentioned that he hadn’t realized he had entered the Gate until it was too late. Now, that could have been a problem, a real problem, because he was still an A-Rank Hunter and not an S-Rank, so the questioning could have become quite annoying. However, there was no real problem, mostly because he only needed a little, very little, more data to continue.

Just 200 MB more, and he could start the trial for Vritramon. Now, he could have done it in the Digital World, maybe by hunting a couple of Marine Digimon, but he didn’t want to start the trial there. Neither did he want to start it here.

The reason was kind of obvious. The Human Spirit, the one that allowed him to become Agnimon, should have been easy to obtain. It was the default, at least that had been the case for Takuya in the show. The problem now was that the Beast Spirit wasn’t like that. Takuya had struggled to control it, even if only for a short amount of time, and he didn’t want to lose control in the Digital World and end up hurting Halloween, Creed, or any other Digimon for that matter.

Did that mean he was fine with losing control here? Of course not. He had no intention of losing control here either, but if he was going to accept the trial, he wanted to do it somewhere far away, just in case something went wrong. And if the trial somehow transported him back to the Digital World, well, that could actually be ideal. Besides, he needed to prepare himself mentally. He knew this was going to be a much harder trial.

After Takuya reunited with everyone, he was quickly interrogated again by the Hunters Bureau. This time, Jincheul didn’t look surprised anymore. He tested Takuya once again, but the moment he touched the device that measured his power, he heard the D-Scan beep. He immediately pulled his hand back. Why? Because if the D-Scan made a sound the exact moment he touched something, then whatever it was doing was probably important.

Takuya didn’t particularly care if someone else saw the D-Scan. There were two reasons for that. First, even if he forgot it somewhere, the D-Scan was technically part of him, so he could simply summon it back into his hand. Second, nobody except him could actually see the holographic screen. To everyone else, it was just a weird phone.

This time, however, the D-Scan looked more talkative than usual. Another update had appeared.

Takuya already knew he had grown stronger during his time in the Digital World. He had felt it himself as he fought. If he had to explain it, when he had first reached the Agnimon form, he had probably been around A- Rank, making him roughly average for that Digimon. But after all the training and the data he had absorbed, he was now certain that he had reached the upper limit of what Agnimon should be capable of. After all, he was already close to evolving.

So, when he touched the device again, he remembered the strength he had possessed before and entered that value instead. Once he reached the Perfect level, only then would he put his actual power into the measurement. Again, he had no intention of hiding his power and acting like some protagonist from a Chinese novel who went around slapping everyone’s faces, but he wasn’t stupid either. He wasn’t going to reveal that he could keep growing indefinitely, at least not for now.

Besides, nobody expected a third awakening. There were no expectations this time. As far as everyone was concerned, this was simply another procedure they had to perform.

In the end, Takuya spent some time checking whether Jinwoo had experienced his second awakening, but there was still nothing. The problem was that it could happen at any moment, so there was no guarantee it wouldn’t happen during his next raid. Once all the matters had been clarified and Takuya was finally allowed to return to action, it was time to gather the remaining data.

Sadly, there were no A-Rank dungeons available. Most of them were B and C Rank, but they were enough. After clearing a couple of them, Takuya finally reached the 30 GB of data he needed, and the possible evolutions were finally unlocked.

Takuya found himself in a kind of stalemate. RizeGreymon? Really? He had already decided on Vritramon, but who wouldn’t want to become a giant dinosaur with a revolver for an arm? That was dope. And DeathMeramon? That Digimon was also pretty damn cool. For some reason, it reminded Takuya of Wolf from DC.

Still, he hadn’t selected any of them yet. First, he needed to get out of Korea. Yeah, he wasn’t planning to start the trial here. It simply wasn’t worth the risk. So, after completing a couple more dungeons, he talked with Guild Master Choi and asked for some time off, at least for a week.

That made Master Choi raise an eyebrow. Wasn’t this kid the same person who had just returned after disappearing for an entire month? Well, in any case, the boy was already asking for another leave.

In the end, the Guild Master accepted. Takuya booked a flight toward an island close to Korea, and now he was currently sitting on a plane. However, he wasn’t alone. He looked to the side and found Cha Hae-In sitting there.

Apparently, Guild Master Choi had thought it would be good for both of them to take a little vacation. He had said that the two of them could use some time away from work.

At first, Takuya had been against the idea, but then he had thought about it. He was probably going to be alone, and there was always the possibility of him getting kidnapped by some random dimensional phenomenon again. So, having a witness around was probably a good idea. Or at least, that was what Takuya told himself.

"Now that I think about it, where are we going?" Cha Hae-In asked as she looked through the window of the plane.

The question surprised Takuya. He looked at her and raised an eyebrow before speaking.

"You didn’t know?" Takuya asked. He watched as Cha Hae-In took another sip from her drink, and a small smile slowly appeared at the corner of his lips as he thought of an answer.

"Yes. I thought you would be the one organizing everything, so I just tagged along," Cha Hae-In replied.

"Ah, it’s a small island. The weather is pretty nice, and for some reason, there aren’t many people there," Takuya explained.

"What’s the name?" Cha Hae-In asked curiously as she continued drinking. It was soda, Coke Light, actually.

"Jeju," Takuya answered as if nothing had happened.

It was obviously a joke. He simply wanted to see her reaction, and he thoroughly enjoyed watching her usually composed face suddenly choke on her drink before looking at him with an expression that practically screamed, Are you joking? Please tell me you’re joking.

"That’s a lie, isn’t it?" she asked, almost pleading.

Oh, that was exactly what Takuya had been hoping to see. At that point, he couldn’t hold his laughter anymore and started laughing.

"Of course it’s a lie! I’m not suicidal, hahaha!"

He barely finished speaking before receiving a punch to his side that sent him flying out of his seat. It didn’t break a bone or anything, but he still slammed against the floor. Even if she had controlled her strength, an S-Rank was still an S-Rank.

After about twenty minutes, they arrived at Udo Island. The plane they were using was a small one, and it could even land on water, so the pilot simply brought it toward the port on the island. They descended from the plane and found themselves at the docks, each carrying a giant bag over their shoulders. It was funny because both of them were Hunters, so for them, carrying the bags felt like carrying almost nothing. The bags themselves, however, were practically bigger than they were.

They were in Geumgap-ri, a place on one of the countless islands surrounding Korea. The island was connected to the mainland by bridges, but there weren’t many tourists around anymore. Even though Jeju Island to the south was relatively isolated, the fact that an S-Rank Gate had broken nearby had made people avoid the surrounding areas, even if "nearby" was still quite far from the actual location.

They were staying at the Sol Beach Hotel & Resort, a five-star hotel, with everything paid for by the Guild. Takuya had to admit that Master Choi really was a good guy for paying for this. Sure, it was probably a privilege for both Cha Hae-In and him, but he wasn’t going to complain. He was genuinely happy. It was his first time staying in a five-star hotel, after all.

From there, he planned to pretend that he was going to travel to a small island farther south, Gujado-ri, just in case something happened. After reaching the hotel and leaving their belongings there, the two separated. Well, mostly, Cha Hae-In simply lost sight of Takuya, who didn’t bother looking for her after dropping off his stuff. Instead, he went around looking for a boat or something that could take him farther south.

Very few people traveled in that direction. In fact, a lot of people told him that there were several uninhabited islands farther south. People simply didn’t want to remain anywhere close to Jeju anymore, so they had abandoned many of the smaller islands around it.

The only people who still lived on those islands were either those who couldn’t afford to move or the elderly who were too attached to their homes to leave. All of it was because of the S-Rank Gate.

The next day, Takuya was ready to set sail. In the end, he had to pay quite a lot for someone to transport him to one of the islands farther south. The island was completely uninhabited, so it should have been fine. However, just as he was about to jump onto the boat, he noticed someone was already inside.

"Cha Hae? What are you doing here?" Takuya asked, surprised by her appearance. He had expected her to be somewhere else, probably taking a drink or relaxing at the hotel.

"You’ve been acting weird, so I followed you. I think whatever you’re planning to do now isn’t something good. At first, I was worried that you were actually going to Jeju, but after talking with the captain, he said you’re going to an uninhabited island, so I’m going to follow you," Cha Hae-In explained.

Takuya stared at her with deadpan eyes. He knew he didn’t have a choice anymore, so he simply sighed, nodded, and jumped onto the boat. Almost immediately, it began moving toward the island farther south.
