Livelihood Dungeon! (English Version)

Chapter Thirty-Two: Forest Administrator (Queen of the Jungle)

"Allow me to introduce you to the DUNGEON ADMINISTRATOR SYSTEM!" Peach excitedly said to Peter after the small ceremony.

"You should listen too," she added, turning toward the female monkey standing nearby.

The monkey glanced at her and nodded in acknowledgment.

The floating dungeon guide raised a closed fist to her mouth and coughed to fully capture the attention of the two.

After that, she began.

"This is a system that will greatly help with the distribution of duties within the dungeon," Peach started.

"As the lord of the Livelihood Dungeon, it is only natural that you possess the privilege of assigning each administrator position to whomever you choose," she added excitedly.

"Why are you only introducing this now, Peach?" Peter asked.

Peach had not expected Peter's reaction to be so calm instead of the excitement she had anticipated from her master.

The dungeon guide professionally composed her emotions.

Once she had fully calmed down, she began explaining.

"There's nothing I can do about it. That's simply how the goddess designed the Livelihood Dungeon," Peach replied with a shrug.

"Would you still like to hear about the Dungeon Administrator System, my master?" she asked.

"Continue," the slightly dissatisfied Peter answered.

"According to the design of this system, I can only inform you about it once I discover a qualified candidate for the position," the guide continued.

"And what exactly are those qualifications?" Peter asked with his arms crossed.

"First of all, intelligence."

Peach immediately received violent reactions from the others after mentioning just the very first qualification.

"Kyū!" It was the first time Peter had heard the innocent slime become angry.

"Grā!" Like the slime, the giant wolf also looked dissatisfied with the word that came out of the guide's mouth.

"T-That's not what I meant! Please forgive me if I offended you, Ichiro and Iyashi!" Peach said pale-faced while bowing repeatedly toward her two friends.

"I didn't mean it that way."

"What I meant is intelligence close to the level of humans. The ability to think, plan, calculate, and many other things."

Peach took a breath before speaking once more.

"I don't think the female monkey has reached that level yet, but please allow me to train her, Master!" she declared to Peter with determination filling her voice.

"Of course," Peter replied simply.

"YES!" Peach reacted intensely to his approval.

Peter already had a slight idea of what Peach was trying to imply.

It was somewhat similar to a scientific theory.

According to that theory, humanity was supposedly related to—or had originated from—monkeys.

And if humans and monkeys truly shared a connection, then it was entirely possible to teach the female monkey.

"The second reason is her bipedal nature. I just want to emphasize that the Livelihood Dungeon is a dungeon designed around activities that contribute to livelihood," Peach explained.

Peter nodded repeatedly.

"Kyū?" Iyashi drooped after hearing that and began questioning its own existence.

"Grā..." Meanwhile, the Terrestrial Wolf stared off into the distance and pretended not to hear anything.

"You do know that livelihood-related activities require workers with capable hands, right?" Peach added.

"Of course."

"Good."

"There's just something I want to confirm, Master. Based on the things you told me before, the main focus of your plans involves a tree farm, agriculture, and animal farming, correct?" Peach asked with narrowed eyes.

"That's correct... for now," Peter replied meaningfully.

He still had many plans, but those were things for the future.

"You could also start businesses using products made from trees and plants. Things like baskets and furniture, for example," the dungeon guide suggested.

"Of course."

Peter was already beginning to grow bored with Peach's suggestions.

He knew she was only concerned, but his plans were far larger and grander than what she imagined.

Baskets?

Furniture?

Peter was far greedier than Peach realized.

"Are there no other requirements? Can we finally begin what we're supposed to begin?" Peter asked.

He knew he might sound rude, but he was far more interested in the new system Peach had introduced than in casual conversation.

"Okay, Master Peter..." the fairy guide replied somewhat dejectedly.

Truthfully, she simply wanted to spend more time interacting with Peter.

He was her master, yet she rarely got the chance to speak with him.

Peter's eyes widened at what suddenly appeared beside Peach.

The dungeon guide looked incredibly proud of her master's reaction while holding out her tiny hand.

Floating before the lord of the Livelihood Dungeon was a massive sheet of perfectly clean paper.

Peter waved his hand through it and confirmed that it was merely a hologram.

Slowly, he read the words written upon it.

"LIVELIHOOD DUNGEON ADMINISTRATOR SYSTEM," he began.

"Master: Peter."

The words were centered at the top portion of the holographic paper.

"Head Administrator: Peach."

Peter's eyes widened once more after reading that.

"Administrators List."

Blank.

Aside from those few words, nothing else was written on the massive sheet.

Peter gave Peach a look that demanded an explanation, but she merely responded with a shrug.

"Let's begin," Peach said.

The guide pressed against the holographic paper, and the words immediately disappeared.

After that, a single noticeable character appeared in the center of the page.

"Come here," Peach called to the female monkey while giving her a meaningful look.

The female monkey unconsciously approached after seeing the holographic paper beside the dungeon guide.

"Master, do you agree to appoint her as an administrator? And as your very first administrator?" Peach asked.

"I agree."

"And what about you? Do you agree as well?" she asked, turning toward the female monkey.

"Brr!"

"I agree as well," Peach translated the monkey's response.

"Excellent! Now that I've obtained the consent of both parties, I can finally begin the true ceremony," the dungeon guide—who also served as the Head Administrator—announced enthusiastically.

"Master, you may now assign the area of jurisdiction you wish for her to manage," Peach instructed.

"Could you give me an example, Peach?" Peter asked.

"For example, if you wish to assign her to oversee your livestock, you could write 'Livestock Administrator,'" Peach explained.

The dungeon master then picked up the pen that suddenly appeared beside the holographic paper.

He wrote the words:

Forest Administrator.

After that, he also wrote the title required by the system after assigning the female monkey's jurisdiction.

Peter was delighted by the information that appeared once he finished signing the necessary sections.

He gave the Head Administrator a questioning look.

"Sign your name below."

As if by magic, an empty space appeared, waiting for Peter's signature.

Without hesitation, Peter placed his signature there.

After that, Peach turned toward the female monkey, and the two exchanged a brief conversation.

The dungeon guide also instructed the monkey to sign, but since she did not know how to write, Peach instead took her thumbprint in place of a signature.

Peter tightly hugged Peach.

He was extremely pleased with the gift she had given him.

The DUNGEON ADMINISTRATOR SYSTEM could apparently contribute far more to the group's security than he had initially expected.

He gently patted Peach's head as well and apologized for being a little too harsh earlier due to his anxious desire to grow stronger.

"Based on what I read, you're the Head Administrator. Does that mean you also benefit from the same perks as the female monkey?" Peter asked curiously while trying to uncover Peach's possible secret.

"What do you think, Master?" Peach replied with a playful smile, answering his question with another question.
