With that, Niu Jishui hung up and looked at Wu Renqing with a somewhat complicated expression.

Wu Renqing stared at Niu Jishui, his eyes practically boring holes into him with anticipation.

"Director Niu, what did Director Han say?"

A brilliant smile bloomed on Niu Jishui's face. "Old Wu, as for your situation, I really pulled out all the stops! I recommended to the City Lord and Director Han that you take over my position."

Wu Renqing's mind went blank! He stared at Niu Jishui in utter shock, so moved he was on the verge of tears!

Wu Renqing rushed to declare his loyalty. "Director Niu, thank you for mentoring me! Please, rest assured! I will always stand united with you! All the work, easy or hard, just leave it all to me!"

Niu Jishui roared with laughter. "Hahahaha, Old Wu, what's our relationship? You think your big brother would give you the tough jobs?"

Wu Renqing bowed deeply, his face a mask of gratitude. "Director Niu, honestly, just recommending me for the office director position would have been more than enough. You didn't need to go to all this trouble. With my qualifications, I'm nowhere near ready for Deputy Director."

The young clerk quickly opened the door and ushered Wu Renqing inside.

Wu Renqing responded and scurried over to Han Kaiyuan and Niu Jishui with quick, short steps, bowing deeply. "Wu Renqing greets the two directors."

Han Kaiyuan nodded amicably and pointed to the adjacent seat. "Sit."

"Thank you, Director!"

Wu Renqing gingerly perched on the edge of the chair, sitting ramrod straight with his eyes fixed forward. He was ready to spring to his feet at the slightest notice.

Han Kaiyuan was very pleased with Wu Renqing's attitude. 'Look at this guy's awareness,' he thought. 'He clearly has such a badass nephew, yet his etiquette is still impeccable!'
