Chapter 168 - 130: Taotie, Wang Long
"Hehehe."
"Hiding your faces, every one of you."
"Why don’t you take off that helmet and let me have a look?"
Yui Ya of the Gluttony Demon Sect sidestepped, dodging a sword strike from the Black Dragon War General before her.
"This Swordsmanship of yours is nothing special," Yui Ya said softly.
The Black Dragon War General remained unfazed. When he struck again, he was already gathering his Martial Arts True Intent.
"Demoness, today you die," Wang Long said flatly.
As the eldest son of the current Grand Commandant, Wang Long had been raised to utterly despise the warlords who threw the world into chaos.
’The Profound Nether Sect, the Saint Demon Sect, and all the other factions stirring up trouble in these chaotic times—they all deserved to die!’
"Who lives and who dies is yet to be decided."
Yui Ya’s eyes narrowed slightly as she drew a long, jade-white flute from her waist.
She brought her red lips to the flute, and a bewitching melody began to drift from it.
High-Grade Martial Arts Talent: Demon Law!
Intermediate Martial Arts True Intent, Demoness’s Rhythm!
A tangible, alluring Demoness materialized, casting forth a stream of musical notes that floated toward Wang Long.
The musical notes, manifested by the Demoness, floated toward him, full of captivating smiles and graceful allure.
It was the most beautiful feminine sound Wang Long had ever heard.
Images of every beautiful woman he had ever met in his life converged in his mind.
Finally, they coalesced into a single, breathtakingly beautiful woman, singing a heavenly melody as she approached him!
’Something’s wrong!’
The confusion in Wang Long’s eyes vanished at the critical moment!
Advanced Martial Arts True Intent, Demon Extermination Sword Intent!
The visualized Sword Intent transformed into a tall figure clad in silver-white armor, enveloping Wang Long’s body.
CLANG! The deadly strike Yui Ya had conjured from her demonic music—a killing blow aimed at Wang Long’s head—was blocked.
The armored figure manifested by the Demon Extermination Sword Intent merely shuddered slightly.
"Hmph! A petty trick!"
"Die! Demon Extermination Sword!"
Having snapped out of it, Wang Long was furious. He instantly channeled his Sword Intent, merging with the silver-white figure behind him. A massive amount of Spiritual Power poured in, and a silver-white Sword Intent slash dozens of meters long shot toward Yui Ya!
Seeing that this brute’s Martial Arts True Intent was a cut above her own, Yui Ya immediately put away her flute.
The next moment, Yui Ya instantly activated her Demon Fiend Bloodline.
The seductive Demoness had now become a truly ferocious one.
Her mouth split open to her earlobes and her eyes turned savage. Aside from her still-graceful curves, she had completely transformed into a Female Taotie Beast.
In short, she was edible if you removed the head.
Her eleven percent concentration of the Ancient Taotie Bloodline boosted Yui Ya’s physical attributes by nine hundred percent!
And that wasn’t all.
The instant the sword light descended,
Yui Ya activated the Demon Fiend Skill, ’Greed.’
’Greed’ activated the gluttonous appetite deep within the Taotie bloodline. Spurred by this hunger, the Taotie’s combat strength would be greatly enhanced.
The drawback was a significant loss of rationality.
BOOM!
The sword light crashed down!
At the last possible second, Yui Ya dropped to all fours with terrifying speed, dodging the epicenter of the attack and greatly diminishing the sword light’s destructive power.
The next moment, the demonized Yui Ya shot toward Wang Long.
"A Demoness is a Demoness," Wang Long said aloud, though he was inwardly stunned by her speed and power after activating her Demon Fiend Bloodline.
He channeled his Demon Extermination Sword Intent, unleashing terrifying slashes of Sword Energy in an attempt to drain Yui Ya’s Spiritual Power.
When a Martial Artist advances to the Rebirth Realm, the Demon Fiend Bloodline within them transforms along with their body, often resulting in a significant increase in bloodline concentration.
However, the cost of activating the Demon Fiend Bloodline also increases dramatically.
Wang Long was trying to delay activating his own Demon Fiend Bloodline to gain an advantage in terms of Spiritual Power consumption.
Wang Long’s Sword Energy was extremely potent, incomparable to that of an ordinary Spiritual Martial Arts user in the Rebirth Realm.
But Yui Ya possessed an Ancient Level Demon Fiend Bloodline, and with the boost from her ’Greed’ state, the strength of her Spirit Body was amplified to an absurd degree.
As the Female Taotie Beast, Yui Ya dodged continuously at terrifying speed, avoiding vital points. The remaining Sword Energy strikes that landed on her tough body had little to no effect.
Finally, Yui Ya managed to get in front of Wang Long.
She raised a fist and slammed it down.
Wang Long blocked with his longsword across his chest, but a terrifyingly immense force struck him, sending him flying back dozens of meters.
"This... could it be an Ancient Level Demon Fiend Bloodline...?" Horror appeared on Wang Long’s face!
However, this was only the beginning. Yui Ya unleashed a frenzied assault on Wang Long.
After being knocked back again, his Spirit Body on the verge of being damaged, Wang Long dared not hesitate any longer and instantly activated his own Demon Fiend Bloodline.
Archaic Red Dragon Bloodline!
The Archaic Red Dragon was one of the active Dragon Race clans said to have lived during the Archaic Era.
It was well-documented in ancient texts for its ability to breathe dragon fire!
After activating his Archaic Red Dragon Bloodline, Wang Long’s physical strength was still inferior to Yui Ya’s, but he was now able to barely fight back.
He was sent flying again by a punch from the Female Taotie Beast, and a small chunk of flesh was even torn from his arm.
SWOOSH! Wang Long stopped thinking about conserving Spiritual Power.
He drove his Demon Extermination Sword Intent, pouring a massive amount of Demon Fiend Power into it!
"Red Dragon Slash!"
Infused with Demon Power! Wang Long unleashed a crimson slash of Sword Energy dozens of meters long!
This was the strongest sword strike Wang Long could currently execute.
A strike that perfectly fused his Advanced Martial Arts True Intent with the Demon Fiend Power in his body.
With this one strike, Wang Long had defeated many opponents in the Rebirth Realm.
"ROAR!!"
Even in her ’Greed’ state, Yui Ya sensed the terror of this strike.
She immediately circulated the Demon Fiend Power within her.
Demon Fiend Skill: ’Wasting Heavenly Treasures’—summons the digestive power of the ancient Taotie to decompose enemies.
The Taotie, said in legends to be the offspring of a Primeval True Dragon, has been famous since the Ancient Era not only for its greed, but also for its ability to devour all things.
Its ability to devour all things relied on this very digestive power.
Her Demon Fiend Power condensed, forming a phantom Taotie in front of her.
This phantom Taotie opened its great maw, and a dark red vortex within its mouth began to materialize.
BOOM!
The crimson Sword Energy slashed down!
Just as it was about to strike the Taotie Demoness, the dark red vortex in the phantom’s mouth moved.
The dark red vortex actively met the crimson Sword Energy.
For a brief moment, the swift crimson Sword Energy paused.
Then, in an almost surreal fashion, the entire slash of Sword Energy was sucked in by the dark red vortex. It was drawn out bit by bit, the Sword Energy twisting into chaotic curves.
At first, the crimson Sword Energy resisted for a moment.
But the more the dark red vortex ’ate’ the Sword Energy, the stronger it grew, until finally, in a certain instant—
The vortex instantly devoured the entire slash of Sword Energy.
Wang Long’s Red Dragon Slash, meant to slay heavens and sunder the earth, was successfully digested by the dark red vortex in the phantom Taotie’s mouth.
After devouring the Sword Energy, the phantom Taotie seemed extremely satisfied. It let out a burp before slowly dissipating into the void.
"How is this possible...?" Wang Long was utterly astonished.
’That last strike consumed a great deal of my Spiritual Power. How could it have been blocked so easily?’
’No, it wasn’t blocked. It was eaten.’
At some point, Yui Ya had deactivated her ’Greed’ state, her rationality restored.
"Hehe, it seems your Swordsmanship really is nothing special."
Her crisp, bell-like laughter, combined with her graceful figure and the face of a Female Taotie Beast, gave Wang Long a peculiar sense of crisis.
"Stop joking around! There’s no way your Ultimate Skill blocked that strike so easily! You must have used up a lot of Spiritual Power, right?"
"Come on! Let’s fight to the death!!"
Wang Long raised his sword and frantically unleashed slash after slash of Sword Energy.
After disengaging her ’Greed’ state, Yui Ya’s speed slowed a beat, and her defensive capabilities were also somewhat reduced.
Facing Wang Long’s Sword Energy, she was occasionally wounded while dodging.
But as Yui Ya closed the distance, the two were soon entangled in close-quarters combat.
RIP! Yui Ya tore off a piece of Wang Long’s flesh and mercilessly devoured it.
Demon Fiend Skill, ’Gluttony’: rapidly recover from injuries by consuming large amounts of food; high-quality flesh is even more effective.
The wounds on Yui Ya’s body from the Sword Energy began to heal at a visible rate.
Meanwhile, Wang Long’s injuries were only accumulating.
"Red Dragon Flame!"
Wang Long activated a Demon Fiend Skill, and a massive torrent of crimson flame shot from his mouth.
Engulfed in the crimson flames, Yui Ya simply summoned the Taotie phantom again and easily escaped the fire.
Relying solely on his innate Demon Fiend Skills, Wang Long was no match for Yui Ya.
The Archaic Level and the Ancient Level were a tier apart. Wang Long had to combine his attacks with his Advanced Martial Arts True Intent just to be able to harm the demonized Yui Ya.
The two fell into a war of attrition. After exchanging ultimate techniques, neither could sustain a higher intensity of combat, and both were left guessing how much of the other’s Spiritual Power Value had been depleted.
In the end, it was Wang Long who couldn’t hold on any longer.
He forced Yui Ya back with a sword strike and began to retreat, intending to leave the battlefield.
"Hehehe! Can’t take it anymore? You’re no man at all!"
Yui Ya gave chase. She was a step faster than Wang Long, and he couldn’t shake her at all.
At this point, the Spiritual Power in Wang Long’s body was nearing its limit. If he continued to fight, his Spiritual Power would run out, and his body would truly begin to break down its own Spirit Body to maintain a combat state.
"To me! Aid me!"
Wang Long had no choice but to call for aid from the nearby Black Dragon Army.
The Black Dragon Army was extremely loyal. Squad after squad of soldiers surrounded the Taotie Demoness.
These spear-wielding soldiers of the Black Dragon Army formed a specific formation that was actually able to delay Yui Ya for a moment.
"Hehe, it seems you really have reached your limit."
"In that case, it’s time for big sister to take you away."
Yui Ya’s Demon Power erupted, knocking down a large swath of the surrounding Black Dragon Army soldiers.
Without hesitation, Yui Ya then took a large bite out of her own arm.
She swallowed the mouthful of flesh.
Demon Fiend Skill: ’Taotie’s Fury’—by consuming its own flesh and blood, the Taotie can erupt with even greater combat power. The more it eats, the greater the boost.
This was the most powerful Demon Fiend Skill Yui Ya currently possessed.
At a critical moment, she could use this Demon Fiend Skill to take an enemy down with her.
It was just a large piece of flesh from her arm,
but the enhancement effect on Yui Ya already surpassed that of her previous ’Greed’ state.
However, the piercing pain in her arm was also real. Flesh consumed by ’Taotie’s Fury’ would take a very long time to truly grow back.
The pain in her arm only intensified Yui Ya’s killing intent.
WHOOSH!
Yui Ya broke through the encirclement of the inferior Black Dragon Army soldiers at a terrifying speed.
Wang Long’s pupils shrank. In that instant, Yui Ya was already in front of him.
Wang Long was about to damage his Spirit Body to once again unleash the Red Dragon Sword.
But his hesitation doomed him. Yui Ya gave him no chance, knocking his longsword away before pouncing on him and pinning him to the ground.
Her massive mouth opened, and with a single bite, she severed Wang Long’s head and swallowed it whole!
