The Rich Cultivator

Chapter 450. Tango Twin Islands

A shimmering golden barrier enclosed the Tango Twin Island, glimmering faintly like a mirage under the sun. Within its perimeter, patrols flew gracefully— some on enchanted swords, others riding sleek hoverboards, leaving ethereal trails in the air.

From afar, the golden sands sparkled so vividly it was hard to believe it wasn’t metaphorical. The light bounced off the beach and dyed the nearby waters with a rich, honeyed hue, as if the entire shore was dipped in gold.

The island itself was massive, spread out like a sprawling paradise. Yet despite its size, none of the buildings exceeded five storeys in height.

In the heart of the island stood a massive arc-like structure, built from a strange material that looked like polished wood yet shimmered with glowing veins. It stood proudly as the centerpiece, surrounded by curious onlookers and tourists taking photos or sketching it.

"That arc connects this island to its twin," Mana explained. She stood beside Tyler, both of them peering through a round window from inside their ship. "There’s another island just like this one floating a bit farther away— same buildings, same layout, almost identical in every detail. If we walk through that arc, we’ll be transported directly to the other island."

Tyler folded his arms, raising an eyebrow. "So they’re literally twins? Both are part of the Tango Twin Island?"

"Yup," Mana nodded. "It’s kind of tradition. They just kept the old name. See, this place used to be one of the Games created by the gods."

"Games of Gods? But looks like not anymore." Tyler tilted his head, intrigued.

"Yeah," she continued, while munching an Apple. "During Gods Era, this Island is one of the twisted challenges that travellers needed to survive to go further North. This one was known as the Twin Island Game. Anyone who entered would have a perfect duplicate created on the opposite island. And their goal? Escape the island without ever realizing they’ve switched places. The stories say sometimes the islands would swap people without them noticing. You’d think you’re with your crew, your friends... but they were just mirror copies."

Tyler’s face paled slightly. "Creepy... imagine realizing your lover isn’t actually your lover after a night session. Glad the game’s not active anymore."
