True Immortal Heart

Chapter 55: The Veilrose Family’s Concern

There was an amusing dynamic between the three—Dusk, Caelan, and Tharion. Each of them thought the others were just kids.

With memories spanning over 300 years, Dusk naturally saw both Caelan and Tharion as mere infants.

Meanwhile, the other two viewed Dusk as a mere adolescent, barely more advanced than a child with a snotty nose.

"Then let me tell you a piece of major news. A civilization existed on Earth over 800 million years ago," Dusk said.

All three were stunned by the claim. According to science, even animals might not have existed on Earth that far back.

"You know what kind of race lived on Earth at that time?" Caelan asked, his tone doubtful yet curious.

"There were many," Dusk replied after recalling for a moment. "You could say it wasn’t any less diverse than it is now—perhaps even more. But only two races were truly noteworthy: demons and humans. In fact, demons possessed a far greater overall strength than humans. Back then, humans only occupied four continents."

In truth, even Dusk himself wasn’t certain how accurate this information was. He had only overheard fragments from people somehow connected to ancient beings.

But that didn’t matter much. Sharing a few ancient facts wouldn’t bring any real harm. Besides, it was always interesting to throw a little chaos into the mix.

Lysandra, however, was lost in thought the moment she heard this revelation. Doubts began to spiral in her mind.

"If what you’re saying is true, then... is the theory of evolution even correct? Could it be that, like the religions say, humans were actually created by gods?" She asked, her voice laced with disbelief—as though the truths she once held dear were now slipping through her fingers.

And she wasn’t the only one. Her father and grandfather wore similar expressions of confusion. None of them could bring themselves to believe it completely—but if it was true... then what did that make humans?
