Chapter 45: Stirring Lysandra
Seeing Dusk’s apparent concern about her attitude, Lysandra responded with a gentle smile.
"Don’t worry. I have my own aspirations. I would never do anything that goes against them."
The sincerity in her voice was unmistakable, and Dusk found himself tentatively believing her.
After all, if someone was skilled enough in the art of deception, even the most blatant lie could pass as truth. He himself had lied more than a few times—well, to be more accurate, he often used half-truths.
Like when he killed someone—yes, that was the truth. He didn’t deny it. But he could always add a few details to make it sound like he’d done it for a noble cause.
"Thanks a lot. May I ask... what is your aspiration?" Dusk gave his thanks, then followed up with the question.
He wanted to understand her better—for practical reasons, of course.
Noticing his curiosity, Lysandra made no attempt to hide her answer.
"My dream has always been the same: to become the most beautiful person in this world."
Her tone and gaze made it clear that this was no idle boast. It was her deepest, most burning desire.
Dusk was momentarily stunned. This wasn’t just an ordinary dream—it was a path.
A path was a personal journey, a unique direction of growth. For anyone to rise to the heights of a high-level Heart Master, sheer effort and luck weren’t enough—they also needed a clearly defined path.
