Chapter 30: Elias Arrives
The shrill sound of a police siren came to an abrupt stop. From the vehicle, a young and strikingly handsome officer stepped out.
That figure—so familiar. It was him—Elias.
He had already been in a foul mood after watching a criminal escape right under his nose. Now, seeing his lover being bullied only fueled his fury.
Spotting the security guard peeking out from behind a corner, Elias frowned.
"Hey! What kind of guard are you supposed to be? How could you just let a stranger barge into the house of the person who hired you?"
"I sincerely apologize," the guard said, bowing his head.
’Damn it. Easy for you to talk about principles. You have no idea how dangerous it was just now. More than twenty lunatics were ready to pounce on me at any moment. I’m not dumb enough to stand in their way!’
Though he looked obedient on the outside, the guard cursed nonstop in his heart. He truly felt miserable.
Elias had no intention of wasting another second. Without hesitation, he rushed straight into Seraphine’s villa.
The door was wide open, and inside the grand hall, two groups of people stood facing each other, tension thick in the air. Elias felt, for a brief moment, that one man alone might not be enough.
’Shit. Why are there so many people? I thought it’d be just a few.’
He was shocked—but for the sake of his lover, even if there were two hundred people instead of twenty, he’d still charge ahead. Love gave him the strength to defy any odds.
