Chapter 25: Encounter with the Police
Viper wiped the blood off her face, carefully checking her body to ensure there were no stains left.
Her movements were incredibly precise and professional. In just a few moments, there wasn’t a single trace of blood visible on her.
"Hey, do you know how to pick a lock? Go open the door and let our people in," she said.
Caught off guard, Dusk blinked blankly for a few seconds before shaking his head. He had never needed to pick locks before—usually, he just smashed them open.
"Are you sure?" she asked, skeptical.
After all, he’d said he didn’t know how plenty of times before, but somehow he always ended up knowing how to do it anyway.
"This time, I swear it’s a hundred percent true. If you don’t want to waste time, do it yourself," Dusk replied with a pout.
It was frustrating—telling the truth and still not being believed. It wasn’t like he was some omniscient god or anything like that.
Maybe after beating someone up, Viper was in a better mood now, because she didn’t push him further.
"Alright, then just watch and learn."
With that, the two of them headed to the door. Since they had no idea where the young guy had kept the key, they had no choice but to force the lock.
She pulled out a specialized lock-picking set and got to work. After a short while, the lock clicked open.
