Soul Emperor Awakening

"Your power comes from this Blood Pool, doesn’t it? Fine, I’ll drain it dry and see how strong you are then!" Lin Xuan stared coldly at Xu Qianlong, his voice filled with determination.

Not only could he manifest Elemental Power Wings to fly, but he could also frantically absorb the power of the Blood Pool. A continuous stream of Essence Blood surged into his body. This was an absolute taboo under normal circumstances. Even Xu Qianlong wouldn’t dare to absorb it so recklessly, as doing so would cause him to lose his sanity!

But Lin Xuan couldn’t worry about that now. Since Xu Qianlong was trying to stop him, he would just absorb it all frantically, pulling every last bit of power from the Blood Pool into his body.

The Demon Evil Monarch had already possessed his body. As a cultivator of Demon Techniques, the Monarch knew how to do all of this. Lin Xuan had long been aware of this, but it came at a great price. Excessive absorption could very well cause him to break down and lose his sanity.

This was his only option. If he didn’t do this, he would never escape. And even though Tuo Shengfeng had made it out, if anyone else tried to rescue him now, they would be completely intercepted by Xu Qianlong, who would no longer be distracted.

"Wh-what is this? How do you know the Demon Heaven Technique too?!" Xu Qianlong was stunned. Even Qing Deyun and the others outside were shocked. They had thought Lin Xuan was being controlled, but it turned out he knew the Demon Heaven Technique as well!

The Demon Heaven Technique was the name of this very Cultivation Technique—the same sinister one Xu Qianlong was practicing. Who could have imagined Lin Xuan knew it as well? Without the Demon Heaven Technique, it would be impossible to control the blood here, much less absorb and utilize it like this.

Normally, an ordinary Cultivator would find it difficult to utilize this Essence Blood. Just because they could absorb it into their body didn’t mean they could actually use it.

But now, Lin Xuan was utilizing it completely. As Essence Blood poured into him nonstop, the power inside his body began to skyrocket. This was, after all, a Blood Pool containing immeasurable Essence Blood, every drop filled with pure Energy. While absorbing it was an easy way to grow stronger, it was far easier to go berserk or have one’s body simply explode from the strain!

Yet he continued to absorb it frantically, allowing the Energy inside him to increase at a terrifying rate as his Cultivation level stacked higher and higher. This wasn’t his true strength, but it could temporarily enhance his power, much like burning one’s own Essence Blood to artificially inflate their Cultivation.

Lin Xuan no longer cared about the consequences. All he wanted now was to kill Xu Qianlong and put an end to everything!

"I’ve known about this for a long time, but I would never practice such a vile and malevolent Demon Technique... But to deal with you, I have no other choice. I will absorb your Essence Blood and see how you act so mighty then!" Lin Xuan said coldly.

Under his control, the power of the surrounding Blood Demon Array diminished rapidly. At the same time, Xu Qianlong felt his Elemental Power draining away. The Grand Array originally belonged to him and was completely under his command, but now, control was shifting slightly in Lin Xuan’s favor.

"In your dreams!"

Xu Qianlong instantly panicked. Without the Blood Demon Array, he was nothing. Although it wouldn’t be a problem right away, Lin Xuan was already wasting his precious Essence Blood.

He charged over, lashing out violently at Lin Xuan with a whip of Elemental Power. He no longer cared if Lin Xuan lived or died—he just wanted to defeat him!

"Bloodthirsty Python!"

A cold glint flashed in Lin Xuan’s eyes. He swiftly manipulated the surrounding blood, sending a monstrous wave surging toward Xu Qianlong. This was one of the Demon Evil Monarch’s Ultimate Skills. At the same time, Xu Qianlong furiously directed the blood to lunge at Lin Xuan, refusing to be put on the defensive.

BOOM!

An explosion rocked the area, filling it with a thick mist of blood. The metallic stench grew even more potent.

"Cough, cough..." Lin Xuan coughed, having been slammed hard against the wall. He spat out some blood. ’Absorb!’ With that thought, he immediately began absorbing the surrounding blood to accelerate his body’s recovery. The price, however, was allowing the blood to integrate even more deeply into his system.

This was an absolute taboo, but Lin Xuan had no other choice if he wanted to rapidly increase his Cultivation.

"If you keep absorbing that, you’ll lose your mind!" Xu Qianlong’s face was ashen. He realized Lin Xuan possessed the same healing ability he did, only Lin Xuan was using it far more recklessly. "Besides, this is a dead end for you! At this pathetic rate of growth, defeating me is impossible!"

Xu Qianlong wasted no more words. With a roar, he renewed his fierce assault on Lin Xuan. He had to knock him unconscious or kill him outright. Otherwise, there was no way to stop the drain on the blood.

"Is that so? We’ll see about that!" A determined light flashed in Lin Xuan’s eyes. "Martial God Soul, fuse!"

In that instant, the soul from the Soul Pearl possessed and fused with him. BOOM! A terrifying aura erupted and shot toward the heavens. The rapidly climbing presence made Xu Qianlong’s face drain of color. This was absolutely not the aura of the Core Formation Stage Level, but that of the Void Spirit Level—and it was even climbing toward the higher Spirit King Stage!

Fusing with the Martial God’s soul alone was enough to grant him the Realm of the Void Spirit Stage. Combined with the earlier fusion with the Demon Evil Monarch, the stacking effect was terrifyingly powerful. It sent his Realm soaring wildly toward the Spirit King Stage, and the benefit of doing so was an immense increase in his power of control!

This meant more precise power, finer control, and a greater ability to manipulate the forces around him.

THUMP!

The Essence Blood in the Blood Pool surged toward Lin Xuan like water from a burst dam, pouring completely into his body. Both his rate of absorption and the raw power he wielded now far surpassed Xu Qianlong!

This was the advantage of a higher Realm—the ability to frantically draw upon the surrounding forces. After fusing with the Essence Blood, his Cultivation showed explosive growth! In an instant, his Cultivation reached the Core Formation Stage Level and continued to climb rapidly beyond it.

This scene stunned everyone outside. The power Lin Xuan was displaying was terrifying. He was originally at the Spirit Pill Stage Cultivation, yet with the help of the Blood Pool, he had instantly erupted to the Core Formation Stage Cultivation! He had jumped an entire Great Realm. The problem was, his current level of control far surpassed even that of the Core Formation Stage.

"How in the world does Lin Xuan cultivate? Is that really the Demon Heaven Technique? How could he have practiced it to such a terrifying degree?!"

"If this goes on, Lin Xuan will lose his sanity! What are we supposed to do then?"

"Are we supposed to kill him? Or just stand by and watch?"

...

Qing Deyun and the others looked grim. They wanted to defeat Xu Qianlong, but they lacked the power to do so. The Lin Xuan before them clearly possessed that ability, but what would happen after he lost his sanity? What choice would they have to make?

After all, if he lost his mind, a Lin Xuan who had absorbed that much Essence Blood would surely become a great demon. If his body exploded, he might not become a scourge. But if he managed to survive... the world would be in for a catastrophe!

But Lin Xuan was only being so reckless for their sake. If he lost his mind... could they really bring themselves to kill him?
