Chapter 186: Flipped to Death
Hal glanced at the disappearing figures of his subordinates, lingering on Hao and Rocky’s squadrons for a while before shifting his gaze forward.
He wasn’t too worried about Yhohan and her squadron, since he was sure that they could handle their opponent.
The two squadrons teaming up to fight a single C-ranked creature was the most unpredictable out of the three battles of the Chaos Platoon.
’Oh well, Rocky’s there, so they should at least be able to hold out until Yhohan’s squad finishes off that E-ranked chameleon beast...’ he inwardly shrugged, though he couldn’t deny that he was still slightly worried.
’Better finish my business quicker, then...’
Hal wasn’t sure how effective [Winter’s Grasp] would be against a C-ranked Fell Beast, but it should, at the very least, make it easier for him and his squadron to win, right?
Soon, the Hal Squadron arrived back at the massive boulder with a redwood tree adjacent to it, increasing their vigilance as they entered the area.
Their leader, on the other hand, was chilling.
Hal knew that the C-ranked Fell Spacemeanderer, a beast with the form of a four-armed ape—its usually indigo fur now turned purple—and the maws of a canid, was still absorbing mana from the brownish-red ground.
There was nothing to worry about yet, as they still hadn’t been detected.
It was a blessing that these beasts seemed to lose a considerable portion of their sense of danger while absorbing mana.
Otherwise, things would be much trickier.
