Chapter 92: VIP Launch Announcement
Mmm.
This is Chihaya.
Not anyone’s alternate account. I am who I am.
And so.
As is tradition, I’d first like to thank all the readers who have followed the story this far. It’s been a long road for you all.
I hope to see you all in the Chapters to come.
Next, I want to thank my editor, Liu Xing, and the great authors who gave my book a shout-out.
Young Master Guan, author of Minglong.
Cheese Fox, author of Starting as a Counterfeit Captain to Become the Emperor of the Empire.
I kowtow in gratitude to these two great authors (haha).
And to any other authors who gave me a shout-out that I might not be aware of, thank you as well.
Next, I want to thank the members of the fan group for Divine Maiden. It’s because you all didn’t mind how badly I wrote Divine Maiden and kept encouraging me that this book, Cultivating Demoness, came to be.
After a series of roadside flops, I’d lost all confidence in my writing.
I’ve been writing for several years without making a name for myself. My health has declined, and my mental state isn’t very stable anymore. When I look back, I feel like I’m still a rookie just starting out. It’s as if I haven’t figured anything out and have just been foolishly wasting my years.
But thankfully, I still have a group of lovely readers with me.
.
Actually, when I’m not writing, I read a lot of other novels to learn how others do it.
Sometimes, I’ll see something that’s really well-written.
And I’ll think.
’Whoa, how can someone write this well? I’m so jealous.’
Then I’ll feel miserable about my own terrible skills, even thinking things like, ’If only I had half of this author’s talent.’
Finally, I’ll just give up on myself.
’How could I ever write better than someone like this? I might as well just quit.’
But every time, in the end, I’ll sheepishly pick up my keyboard again—not to write, of course, but to play a game.
Because writing doesn’t seem very tanoshii.
It’s the kind of work you can supposedly do anytime, but that also means you have to do it all the time, no matter where you are. It’s a year-round job, meow.
I’m already old at a young age. Sigh.
Side note: I don’t play Calabi-Yau.
But in the end, I still come crawling back to write. The story has to continue, bit by bit. I have to admit, when a story slowly takes shape under my hands, it’s an incredibly joyful feeling.
Perhaps I’m doomed to be ruined by this feeling for the rest of my life.
.
Let’s talk about this book.
Aren’t we a lighthearted, happy romance novel? (haha)
Mmm, I must mention that in this book, combat power is never the standard for measuring Cultivation. The state of one’s heart is. That’s why there’s a story of a mortal in the Red Dust reaching the Fifth Realm in a single step.
After all, to cultivate, one must first cultivate the heart. In my mind, an Immortal shouldn’t be defined by supernatural powers that can move mountains and fill seas, but by being a person who can immerse themselves in the Red Dust yet remain transcendent.
Where there are people, there can be Immortals.
Essentially, this book should be called The Saga of Lu Changyuan Cleaning Up the Cultivation Realm. After all, the Cultivation Realm in this book is quite dark and needs someone to sweep it clean and let the sunlight in.
One must not forget that they are human, right?
Mmm.
The rest of the content is basically about "if a flower is in full bloom and ready for picking, you must pick it." Because if you don’t, the flower will turn into a Demon and lock you away in its cavern (haha).
Also.
I’m not some amazing author. I can’t satisfy everyone. I just write about little snippets I occasionally get from life, which in the end form a mediocre story.
Please don’t pressure me anymore (runs away).
Although I type slowly and what I write is clumsy, I will still do my best with this book, unless my body or mind really does collapse.
Lately, I sometimes think back to when I first started writing Japanese-style light novels. Those were good times, just as good as now.
Carriages flowed like water, their horses like dragons; it was a fine spring day with flowers and moonlight.
Alright.
That’s enough idle chatter.
The book is about to go premium soon.
As the saying goes, an author whose book hasn’t gone premium is like a young maiden who hasn’t married into a family. Once it goes premium, they become a mature woman in her prime, and you can’t even imagine the things they’ll be able to write.
Now that it’s going premium, I should set some goals for myself.
I see everyone else doing things like "bonus Chapters for monthly tickets" and "bonus Chapters for donations."
I’m different.
My goals are:
First, to eat three proper meals a day. Then, to be in bed before 4 AM every day. To get regular exercise. To abstain from worldly pleasures (cross this one out).
Everyone, please take good care of yourselves too (said with a guilty conscience).
Just kidding.
That’s about it. The update might be a little late, as I have to publish it manually after it goes premium.
For those of you who are able, please consider subscribing to the first premium Chapter.
I want subscriptions so badly I feel like I’m being corrupted by a Desire Demon!
(The fan group number is in the book’s description.)
