If it had been before, Kai definitely wouldn't have been able to help anyone become head of the Aurelius family, because the decisive factor back then was which heir could generate the most profit.
When Selene heard about Kai's continuous words explaining his capability and potential, even to the point that he was confident he could help his father to become the family head, she instantly became serious and thought about it for almost half a minute.
"So, you're saying that if I hire you to protect me now, you'll help my father become family head?" she asked, still sounding confused by the shocking proposal.
Had anyone else made such a claim, she would have dismissed them as a clown or a con artist.

Kai shook his index finger slowly. "No, no, no... you misunderstood, let me clarify this first!"
He then explained slowly, "I said I can help your father. That doesn't mean I will help him. Understand?"
Before Selene could respond, Kai raised his finger and continued. "However, if you're able to afford my protection service, I would definitely consider helping your father to become the family head if his offer interests me."
"Of course, if your uncles and aunties offered me a much better condition, I might even help them instead. But, under the condition that their offers are much better compared to your father's. I'm not an ungrateful person, so I definitely would prefer to help someone who had helped me when I needed it." Kai explained with a calm expression.
"The choice is yours." Kai leaned back, letting her think.
