Chapter 359: Celestial Crusader

Chapter 359 - Celestial Crusader

Under normal circumstances, using the divine mirror was strictly forbidden.

It was only permitted for public display on extremely rare and important occasions.

Even though the divine mirror was considered a low tier technique among gods, its capabilities far surpassed common sense for the mortals living down below.

The divine mirror could display real time events across the world, much like a live broadcast.

Even within the dungeon, as long as a god willed it, any location could be displayed clearly through its surface.

Because of this extraordinary power, its routine use remained off limits.

Only on select occasions could permission be granted to project images on a massive scale.

Right now, the divine mirror broadcasted the clash between the three familias participating in the war game, laying out every detail before the eyes of Orario residents.

Every conversation and every facial expression was captured with crystal clarity.

"What... what is that?"

Inside Babel, a gathering of gods stared at one particular divine mirror.

An unexplained wave of thrill swept through them, every single pair of eyes wide as they fixed their gazes on Mahiro.

Meanwhile, the other mirrors displaying the Ishtar familia and the Apollo familia were entirely forgotten.

Even though the adventurers of the Ishtar familia and the Apollo familia made tactical calls in response to the distant storm clouds and reorganized their ranks, they failed to draw any interest from the divine audience.

Under normal circumstances, such sharp leadership would have provided an entertaining spectacle for the gods.

Yet compared to the stir Mahiro was creating at this moment, those tactical moves were utterly insignificant.

Gods craved novel entertainment and sought out the unknown.

Clearly, Mahiro suited their tastes perfectly.

"Hey, Hestia! Come on, tell us, what is your child getting ready to do?"

Filled with eagerness, one of the gods turned to Hestia for an answer.

"Yeah, we want to know too!" another god chimed in.

"It resembles a magic chant, but I have never seen anyone perform it like that." A god tilted his head in wonder, mixing curiosity with confusion.

"Those glowing symbols look like an ancient script, yet I cannot recall seeing such writing anywhere in my memories."

Another god stared intensely at the shimmering runes drawn by Mahiro’s fingertip, unable to hide his intrigue.

Within the reflection of the divine mirror, Mahiro’s finger traced patterns through empty air, leaving behind mysterious, gleaming runes that hovered in place.

The unusual cadence of his voice and the glowing marks floating before him thoroughly captivated the divine onlookers.

Hestia froze for a second.

She offered a silent, wry smile in her mind before restoring her composure in a heartbeat.

To tell the truth, even she had not anticipated Mahiro creating such a massive stir.

She knew he was preparing to cast his newly unlocked spell but her knowledge of it was purely theoretical.

She had never witnessed its actual execution.

Seeing the stunned and bewildered expressions of the surrounding gods filled Hestia with pride.

After all, Mahiro belonged to her familia.

Clearing her throat with a theatrical cough, she swept her eyes across the room, planted her hands firmly on her hips, and announced, "That is Mahiro’s personal magic!"

"He is chanting a forbidden spell unique to him!"

Far beyond the borders of Orario.

The once clear sky was now swallowed by a massive gray stormcloud.

Golden lightning leaped through the dark cloud cover.

The rolling thunder reverberated across the plains, causing anyone listening to tremble.

Every sound of nature, from chirping birds to calling monsters, was completely drowned out by the roar of the storm.

Yet beneath the thunderous zone, a distinct voice echoed through the air.

It carried a low, unfamiliar cadence, far removed from anything a normal person could utter.

While its volume was barely louder than ordinary speech, it carried through the storm, sounding impossibly clear despite the roaring sky overhead.

The grand thunder seemed to exist merely as a backdrop to emphasize the solemn incantation.

Frightened by the tempest, every creature had fled, leaving only two figures standing in the desolate wilderness.

Mahiro’s magic power surged, channeling straight into the tip of his right index finger as he began reciting the chant for celestial crusader.

"Dance, dance, soldiers of thunder."

"Thunderclaps, one thousand lightning, ten thousand lightning, heed my call."

"No one lives eternally in this world, crave for moments, instants and pleasures."

"Abandon everything in the blink of an eye."

"Those who are late, don’t call for repentance. Tonight is the once in a millennium festival."

"End, end, end, end."

"Dissolve and end life and everything. The liberation of the soul is not easy."

"Completely take off the weight of the fine feathers. This feeling of soaring the world!"

"Kill, kill, kill, kill."

"Share with everyone this easiness, this throb, this freedom, this happiness."

"Oh death, how delightful it is!"

"End, end, end, end. Kill, kill, kill, kill."

"Tonight is the once in a millennium banquet of slaughter."

The solemn recitation came to a sudden halt.

The glowing text drawn by Mahiro’s fingertip ceased at the exact same moment.

This marked the completion of the chant for celestial crusader.

The glowing incantations floated in front of Mahiro.

Ais could feel the immense magic condensed within every single word.

What comes next?

Standing nearby, Ais refrained from disturbing him.

Her eyes remained fixed on Mahiro, her mind filled with quiet anticipation.

The storm above raged on without fading, even as the recitation ended.

With ordinary magic, finishing a chant signaled the spell firing off immediately.

Yet even though the recitation had concluded, no further shift occurred just yet.

Still, a spell capable of summoning such a vast storm could not possibly end here.

A far more terrible power was bound to reveal itself.

Ais watched with growing expectation.

As if answering her silent thoughts, Mahiro lightly flicked his index finger against the floating script.

A crisp sound, like shattering glass, rang through the air.

The lines of text suddenly sprang to life, dancing merrily before wrapping around Mahiro’s right hand.

Feeling the raw energy surging around his hand, Mahiro raised his arm high and thrust his finger toward the heavens, commanding the sky like a general signaling an assault.

A succession of cracks tore through the sky.

Countless bolts of lightning broke free from the stormcloud, cascading down toward the earth below.
