The Capital's Dragon Doctor

Chapter 322: At the End of One's Rope?

He moved at an incredible speed, arriving before Lin Feng in the blink of an eye. Just then, Wang Yi saw a derisive smirk play across Lin Feng's lips.

'What's happening? Isn't this guy out of tricks?'

The thought had barely formed in Wang Yi's mind when he felt a ferocious blast of air approach from behind, and his body instantly went rigid.

Wang Yi whipped around just in time to see a massive fist hurtling toward him. His pupils shrank, and he threw up his left fist to block without a second thought.

BAM!

A dull thud echoed as the two immense forces collided.

'This Lin Feng actually met my fist head-on with his bare hand, and he didn't retreat a single step!'

'How... is this possible?' Wang Yi was utterly stunned.

Just then, Wang Yi felt an overwhelming force surge up his left arm and spread through his entire body, finally gathering in his chest.

Wang Yi was sent flying like a cannonball.

BOOM!

With a deafening crash, Wang Yi smashed through a wall. Dust and debris filled the air. He lay on the ground, motionless.

He struggled to get up, but it was no use. A sweet, coppery taste rose in his throat, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.

Lin Feng lightly tapped his toes on the ground, launching himself into the air. He did a full flip before landing softly in front of Wang Yi.

Lin Feng crouched in front of Wang Yi, his icy gaze boring down on him.

"Wang Yi, your combat prowess is impressive, and your understanding of Martial Arts is quite profound. But after that furious barrage of attacks, your True Essence must be severely depleted, wouldn't you say?"

At these words, Wang Yi gritted his teeth and glared at Lin Feng, wishing he could slice him into a thousand pieces. He couldn't believe Lin Feng had seen right through him.

"In your next life, remember this: there's more to a life-and-death battle than just raw power."

"You need a brain, too."

A disdainful smile appeared in Lin Feng's eyes.

"You shut the hell up! What do you know? If my True Essence hadn't been depleted, you never would have made it this far!"

Wang Yi roared, his voice hoarse with fury. This was the ultimate humiliation. He, who had always prided himself on being a master of Martial Arts, had never suffered such disgrace. He wanted to tear Lin Feng limb from limb.

"You're wrong." Lin Feng shook his head. "If I wasn't trying to avoid injury, I would have killed you within a hundred moves."

"Hahaha, how arrogant you are!"

Wang Yi threw his head back and laughed at the sky. His laughter was maniacal, and a sinister smile twisted his lips.

"Are you mocking me? Fine! Since you want to die, I'll oblige you!"

Wang Yi sneered. A strange smile crept onto his face, and his eyes glinted with bloodthirsty killing intent. He was going to tear Lin Feng to shreds.

But as he tried to stand, a wave of pain shot through his body, making him shudder. He collapsed limply back to the ground.

A sharp, stabbing pain erupted from his Dantian, like a thousand needles piercing him at once.

'Dammit, my Inner Strength is in disarray.'

Wang Yi cursed inwardly. Though his previous string of attacks had been swift and fierce, it had consumed the last dregs of his Inner Strength.

Now, the Inner Strength in his body was running wild. For a Martial Artist, this was a potentially fatal condition. Once one's True Qi falls into chaos, severe internal injuries are inevitable.

And Lin Feng now held the upper hand. If he allowed Lin Feng to strike, his death was certain.

But there was no time. Lin Feng was already charging. He moved so quickly that he was in front of Wang Yi in the blink of an eye.

The punch landed squarely on Wang Yi's abdomen. This was a blow Lin Feng had been planning for a long time, and it carried immense force.

As Lin Feng's fist struck his abdomen, an excruciating, twisting pain seized Wang Yi. That familiar coppery taste welled up in his throat, and he spewed a large mouthful of fresh blood.

He clutched his stomach, his face contorted in agony.

Lin Feng's punch had wounded Wang Yi severely, but at least he was still alive. He hadn't been killed instantly.

COUGH, COUGH.

Wang Yi coughed twice. His face was pale, and fine beads of sweat dotted his forehead, a clear sign of the immense pain he was in. He could no longer hide his weakened state.

Lin Feng stood before him, watching him in silence. But his icy gaze filled Wang Yi with a nameless dread.

"You little bastard! You dared to ambush me! If I make it out of this alive, I swear I will kill you!" Wang Yi shrieked hysterically. His face was beet-red, and he looked ready to explode with rage.

"You're in no position to be making threats."

Lin Feng said coolly. Before his voice had even faded, he abruptly appeared behind Wang Yi.

He lashed out with a kick that landed squarely on Wang Yi's lower back.

THUMP!

Wang Yi was sent flying by the kick, slamming hard onto the ground. He couldn't stop himself from coughing up a large mouthful of dark, clotted blood, a sickening crackle accompanying the impact as if his internal organs were shattering.

It felt as though his insides had been crushed under a mountain. He struggled to climb to his feet, but Lin Feng simply pushed him back down.

"Don't move," Lin Feng said, his voice devoid of emotion. "I told you. I said you would die today, and I meant it."

Hearing this, Wang Yi's eyes went wide. He couldn't believe Lin Feng would say something so direct.

It was blatant contempt, a complete and utter dismissal of his worth. Wang Yi was consumed by rage.

"ARGH!"

Wang Yi let out a bestial roar, shrugging off the hand on his shoulder and whipping his right leg backward in a lightning-fast kick.

But Lin Feng moved as if he had expected it all along, driving his right knee up to connect precisely with Wang Yi's ankle.

CRACK!

The sharp sound of bone breaking echoed down the street. Wang Yi's right ankle had snapped, and the searing pain ripped a bloodcurdling scream from his throat.

SPIT!

Another mouthful of blood sprayed violently from his mouth, his face a mask of utter horror.

Wang Yi couldn't believe Lin Feng was so powerful. He had used a good eighty percent of his strength in that last kick, yet it was still no match for Lin Feng's counter. The realization left him utterly shocked.

Lin Feng slowly crouched down, looking down at the man before him. A cold light glinted in his eyes as he asked, "Do you still think you can escape?"

"Hmph! You want to kill me? In your dreams!"

With a savage sneer, Wang Yi's right hand shot out, brandishing a dagger he had kept hidden beneath him. He slashed viciously at Lin Feng's neck.

Lin Feng leaned aside just enough to dodge the fatal blow, his hand lashing out to grab the other end of the dagger.

A vicious smile crossed Wang Yi's lips. He flicked his wrist, trying to pull the dagger free, but Lin Feng's grip suddenly tightened, and with a burst of force, he shoved it to the side.
