The Capital's Dragon Doctor

Chapter 236: Locked On

He quickly discovered that there was no escape. Lin Feng's aura had locked onto him, and his every move was under Lin Feng's watch.

"Argh!"

He roared at the sky, mustering all the Inner Strength in his Dantian to maximize his body's defenses and block Lin Feng's attack.

THUD!

A sickening thud rang out as Lin Feng's whip kick viciously struck the gray-clothed old man's waist, sending him flying two or three meters and throwing him to the ground.

CRACK!

His body landed and smashed right into the wall, sending countless fine stone fragments flying.

Lin Feng retracted his leg and slowly walked toward the gray-clothed old man.

"Hmph. It seems I've underestimated you."

Slowly lowering his slightly numb arms, the gray-clothed old man freed himself from the wall, cracked his neck, and stared coldly at Lin Feng.

'This kid's physical body is as hard as refined iron!' His full-power strike just now hadn't managed to injure Lin Feng at all. Instead, Lin Feng had used the rebound force to land a kick that made him cough up blood.

"You're extraordinary, but this is only temporary. The gap between our cultivation levels is too great. You don't stand a chance."

The gray-clothed old man's tone grew progressively colder. He stared at Lin Feng, a bloodthirsty, crazed battle intent filling his eyes.

"Is that so?"

Lin Feng said lightly, "Are you sure you'll be able to leave here alive?"

"Hmph. With your meager cultivation, you're not strong enough to kill me."

The gray-clothed old man snorted coldly. In the next moment, his figure flickered, and he charged straight at the proudly standing Lin Feng.

SWISH!

Abruptly, a hidden weapon shot toward Lin Feng from a cunning and bizarre angle, its speed reaching an extreme.

Lin Feng's pupils suddenly constricted. He dodged sideways, evading the hidden weapon's attack, but it still struck his right shoulder, leaving behind a bloody gash.

"You're courting death!"

Lin Feng's eyes narrowed. 'I can't believe this old man's sneak attack is so bizarre. If I hadn't noticed it in time, I'd probably be seriously injured by now.'

"Haha, now it's my turn."

Seeing Lin Feng at a disadvantage, the gray-clothed old man burst into laughter.

He leaped up, his entire body erupting in a brilliant light as he lunged toward Lin Feng to kill him.

His speed was extreme. In a flash, he was behind Lin Feng, his fist viciously smashing forward with vast and majestic Inner Strength.

If this punch landed, it would be enough to easily kill a Mid Stage of Innate Martial Artist.

"Hmph."

Lin Feng snorted coldly. He shifted his body slightly to the side, dodging the fatal blow, then reached back to grab the gray-clothed old man's throat.

All of this sounds complex, but it actually happened in a single instant.

BANG!

The two men's palms collided, creating a low sonic boom. Rampant power raged forth, and Lin Feng was forced back seven or eight steps. With every step he took, the ground cracked beneath his feet.

"Haha..."

The gray-clothed old man, however, laughed wildly, his eyes full of mockery.

"A genius, as expected. But so what? I will kill you today, no matter what."

The gray-clothed old man gave a savage grin. With a flicker of his body, he closed in on Lin Feng.

"Trash will always be trash!"

Lin Feng shook his head, his eyes filled with contempt.

"You're courting death!"

The gray-clothed old man flew into a rage. He shook his arms, and the Inner Strength in his body began to boil. He was finally getting serious!

He took a single step, crossing several meters in an instant to appear directly above Lin Feng's head, then viciously stomped down with his foot.

"Mountain-Suppressing Leg."

The gray-clothed old man's voice was hoarse and icy, tinged with cruelty. His legs, like steel whips, carried a monstrous force as they hammered down toward Lin Feng's head.

Lin Feng's expression was indifferent, but he didn't meet the attack head-on.

His opponent was attacking from above, pitting leg against hand. It could be said he had every advantage. A move like this wouldn't be very effective against Lin Feng; his only choice was to avoid the brunt of the attack and find an opportunity to counter.

SWOOSH!

Lin Feng executed the Wandering Snake Step. His body weaved left and right like a phantom, dodging the gray-clothed old man's attack.

"Heh heh."

The gray-clothed old man sneered, supremely confident. Although Lin Feng's Wandering Snake Step was profound, it couldn't escape his detection.

"You can't escape."

A frigid arc formed on the gray-clothed old man's lips. With a flip of his palm, a short sword appeared in his hand. The blade was gleaming white and radiated a bone-chilling cold.

WHOOSH!

He swung the sword and thrust forward. Fierce Sword Qi tore through the air, carrying a world-shaking killing intent.

SHRED!

The air was torn apart. Lin Feng's gaze suddenly froze; he felt a sharp pain shoot into his mind, and his body stiffened, unable to move another inch.

The gray-clothed old man's speed was astonishingly fast. The edge of his short sword was coated in a shimmering blue sheen, seemingly laced with some kind of deadly poison.

SHRED!

The sharp blade cut through the air, reaching Lin Feng's throat in an instant. It was about to pierce right through his windpipe.

Lin Feng's heart leaped in alarm. Without any hesitation, he took a step back, dodging away from the vital spot.

"Die!"

The gray-clothed old man gave a savage smile, killing intent flooding his eyes. The sword in his hand suddenly sped up, stabbing viciously and decisively toward Lin Feng's heart.

CLANG!

Just in the nick of time, Lin Feng threw a punch, blocking the fatal sword strike.

"Hmph. My short sword is coated in a deadly poison. Forget a Mid Stage of Innate Martial Artist like you—even an expert at the Late Stage of Innate would perish if they were poisoned by my sword."

The gray-clothed old man's gaze grew even more sinister. He once again brandished his short sword and stabbed, vowing to put Lin Feng to death.

This sword was his personal weapon, laced with a deadly poison. Even experts at the Late Stage of Innate wouldn't dare to face it head-on.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG...

The two were locked in combat, exchanging hundreds of blows in a few short moments. Sparks flew, and the sounds of clashing metal echoed.

"Hm?"

Suddenly, a peculiar glint flashed through Lin Feng's eyes, because the gray-clothed old man's speed had clearly slowed.

"You must have used up quite a bit of your Inner Strength."

He barked coldly, pinching the old man's descending short sword between two fingers while his other hand suddenly slapped against his chest.

SPURT!

Fresh blood sprayed out. The gray-clothed old man let out a miserable shriek and was sent flying by the force of Lin Feng's blow.

His face was pale, his eyes filled with terror. 'How could Lin Feng's power have become so terrifying?'

"No, I absolutely cannot just sit here and wait to be killed."

A hint of resolve appeared in the gray-clothed old man's eyes. He grabbed a nearby water bucket and hurled it fiercely at Lin Feng.

"Petty tricks!"

Lin Feng's gaze was calm. He raised his hand and flicked it, unleashing a burst of formless power that instantly shattered the bucket the old man had thrown.

"Damn it."

The gray-clothed old man's expression was grim. Lin Feng's power had somehow surpassed his own; in a direct confrontation, he was no longer even a match.

"Time to die!"

Just then, Lin Feng charged over. He stomped down with his foot, creating a series of whooshes as it cut through the air, as if a small mountain were crashing down.

"Get lost!"

The gray-clothed old man roared, pouring what little Inner Strength he had left into his fists and meeting the attack with a full-power punch.

BANG!
