The Capital's Dragon Doctor

Chapter 154: Convulsing

Lin Feng walked forward. Looking down at Wu Tianxiang, who was twitching uncontrollably on the ground with a bruised, purplish face, he asked indifferently, "How do you want to die?"

Wu Tianxiang struggled to open his swollen eyes. His unfocused gaze landed on Lin Feng. His mouth opened and closed a few times, but in the end, not a single word came out. He was completely petrified.

He was truly afraid of Lin Feng. In his eyes, Lin Feng was the very embodiment of a demon, like an Asura that had crawled out of Hell.

Lin Feng looked at Wu Tianxiang. 'He's clearly scared out of his mind. Since I've already decided to teach this arrogant, overbearing little bastard a proper lesson, I can't afford to leave any loose ends.'

SMACK!

Suddenly, Lin Feng's right foot shot out and kicked Wu Tianxiang across the cheek. In an instant, a bright red shoe print appeared on the left side of Wu Tianxiang's face.

Wu Tianxiang shuddered violently as if he'd been electrocuted. He stared at Lin Feng in terror. His body was now limp on the ground like a puddle of mud. He looked utterly pathetic.

"You don't want to live? You should have said so sooner."

Lin Feng spoke coldly. He truly detested these rich kids who always used their influence to bully others. He couldn't stand such scum.

"I want to live! I want to live!"

Wu Tianxiang said in a rush. All his previous arrogance was gone, because he was truly terrified. He knew he had completely messed up this time.

"You want to live? The moment you dared to go after someone close to me, your fate was sealed. Did you really not realize that?"

"I clearly gave you a chance. Why do you so-called rich kids always think you're so damn special?"

Lin Feng asked, his voice incomparably icy and filled with a thick killing intent. The events of tonight had thoroughly enraged him.

This time, Wu Tianxiang was truly terrified. There was a savage glint in the man's eyes, and his killing intent was like that of a predator about to tear him apart and devour him.

It made him tremble all over. He was truly scared, because he could see that Lin Feng didn't just want to kill him—he was dead set on it.

"No, no, no! I was wrong! I know I was wrong! Please spare me! As long as you spare me, I promise I'll never cause you trouble again. From now on, you can be my dad!"

Wu Tianxiang knelt on the ground, kowtowing and begging for mercy. He was genuinely afraid now. He knew that if he didn't admit his mistake and plead for his life, he could die at any moment, so he kowtowed without pause.

But Lin Feng just snorted coldly and flicked the silver needle held between his fingers. With a soft SWISH, the needle shot instantly toward Wu Tianxiang's throat.

THWACK!

The silver needle struck his Adam's apple dead-on. This was followed by another crisp sound as a stream of dark red blood sprayed from Wu Tianxiang's neck. His head then drooped, his eyes wide with horror and resentment.

Lin Feng stood there, looking at Wu Tianxiang's corpse without a trace of sympathy or pity in his eyes. He had always been a decisive killer; once he chose to kill, he would not hesitate in the slightest.

Glancing into the distance, a cold smile appeared on Lin Feng's face. He then turned and vanished. 'Now, I'll see just what other monsters and demons are lurking in Xijing City.'

...

Under a bright moon in a sparsely-starred sky, in a high-end villa district in Dongshan Province, sat an antique-style courtyard house. It was surrounded by lush green lawns and fragrant, flowering plants. Atop a towering tree by the courtyard wall, a man in black stood with his hands clasped behind his back.

He had an imposing figure and a handsome face. The perfectly tailored suit he wore made him look like a banished immortal.

He tilted his head back slightly to look up, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes. Everything seemed to be under his control.

Looking at the ink-black night sky, he smiled faintly and muttered to himself, "Looks like there's another show to watch tonight!"

Just then, a helicopter flew in and slowly landed in the villa's courtyard. Two burly men in patrol uniforms strode toward the man and saluted.

"Sir!"

The man nodded and then walked toward the main building. The structure's exterior looked ordinary, but in the center of the courtyard stood a tall watchtower, on which two sniper rifles were mounted.

The man walked to a window, pulling the curtain aside just enough to peek through. When he saw the figures inside, his lips curved into a cruel smile. He then took out a walkie-talkie. "Are you ready?"

"Everything is in position!"

A voice replied over the radio. The man nodded and added, "Make it clean. Don't make it too bloody."

"Don't worry. I know what to do."

The voice remained cold, then went silent.

The man smiled faintly and slipped away. His departure went completely unnoticed; he moved so fast that not even a professional special agent would have been able to spot him.

...

The next morning, Lin Feng woke up early. He hadn't forgotten what he needed to do today.

After his treatment, Elder Li's son, Li Yuan, was supposed to wake up today. Lin Feng was very concerned about the Heart-devouring Powder that had been used to poison him.

'That's something extremely rare even among the hidden sects. For it to appear in the Mortal Realm, there must be a reason. I have to investigate this as soon as possible.'

After all, the Heart-devouring Powder was simply too potent. If it wasn't brought under control, endless trouble would surely follow.

After quickly washing up, Lin Feng drove to the Li Family's villa. He had already arranged with Elder Li last night to come today, so there was no need to stand on ceremony.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.

He knocked and then pushed the door open. Lin Feng glanced toward Li Yuan's room. The light was on, and he saw that Li Yuan had woken up, just as he'd expected.

"Mr. Lin, you're here."

Elder Li's voice came from the side. Turning his head, Lin Feng saw the old man. Though his hair was completely white, his complexion was ruddy, and he wore an incredibly warm smile.

Upon seeing Lin Feng, Elder Li was exceptionally courteous. He now regarded Lin Feng as his savior. Not only had the young man reached the Innate realm at such a tender age, but more importantly, his medical skills were nothing short of heaven-defying.

This was why Elder Li was so polite. After all, who wouldn't want to be on good terms with such an outstanding young man?

"Elder Li, you're too kind. How is your son's condition?"

Not one to slight a friendly face, Lin Feng smiled and cupped his hands in a brief salute to Elder Li before sitting by the bed to look at Li Yuan.

"Mr. Lin."

His face still pale, Li Yuan forced himself to sit up. He had clearly been awake for a while.
