The Capital's Dragon Doctor

Chapter 147: Fighting Spirit

When Lin Feng opened his eyes, they were filled with boundless fighting spirit. He had now entered a full combat state, ready to unleash his true strength.

"Hah!"

Lin Feng let out a great shout. With a powerful leap, he shot several dozen feet into the air. He then clenched his right fist and smashed it down toward Wang Jing.

The power of this punch was astounding, making the very air around it screech.

'What a powerful punch!'

Wang Jing's expression turned grim. He didn't dare to face such a punch head-on; he had just learned that lesson.

With a single sliding step, Wang Jing shot away like a bolt of lightning, moving over ten meters to dodge the blow by a hair's breadth. But Lin Feng pivoted in mid-air.

He charged at Wang Jing once more, his fists flying like a downpour. Each punch was overwhelmingly powerful, forcing Wang Jing to get serious just to defend himself.

Every one of Lin Feng's punches contained tremendous power. Veins bulged on Wang Jing's arms as he continuously crossed them to parry the blows.

BANG!

The dense barrage of Fist Force thundered endlessly, shaking the very air.

Lin Feng and Wang Jing traded blows in a fierce battle, and for a short while, they were evenly matched, locked in a stalemate. But then, Lin Feng's footwork suddenly paused, and his aura surged to a new peak.

BAM!

Lin Feng lashed out with a whip kick, striking Wang Jing square in the chest. The immense force sent him flying back three or four meters, but it also gave both of them a moment to catch their breath.

Lin Feng steadied himself and looked at Wang Jing, whom he had just forced back. His gaze was unnervingly cold. He knew Wang Jing was definitely still holding back.

His combat experience and sense of danger told him that the man before him was like a dormant volcano, ready to erupt at any moment and unleash hell.

*GASP...*

Wang Jing was panting heavily. Though the last exchange had just been a test, it had cost him dearly, and he was already starting to feel exhausted. 'But Lin Feng still has strength left... It seems I underestimated him.'

But he remained calm. This was his home turf, after all. The situation was surprising, but it was nowhere near enough for Lin Feng to defeat him.

A sinister smile crept onto Wang Jing's lips, and then he moved again.

Lin Feng's gaze was icy. 'He knows Wang Jing is an incredibly experienced fighter. If he hasn't used his final trump card yet, it means he must have another way to handle this.'

And Lin Feng's situation was indeed dire. He was, after all, still a cut below Wang Jing in terms of raw power. If the stalemate continued, the outcome would only get worse for him.

SWOOSH!

Wang Jing moved again. His Body Technique was even more unpredictable than before, and every motion he made sent a chill down Lin Feng's spine.

As Lin Feng fended him off, he carefully observed his opponent. Although Wang Jing appeared to be handling the fight with ease, Lin Feng knew in his heart that he was also beginning to struggle.

'If I can just drag this out, it won't be long before Wang Jing runs out of steam. But he still hasn't played his real trump card,' a fact that made Lin Feng increasingly anxious.

Lin Feng's mind raced, searching for a counter-strategy. But he also understood that if things continued like this, he would be the one to exhaust his strength first.

Just as Lin Feng was lost in thought, a cold glint of light appeared without a sound. Though as fine as the point of a needle, it was incredibly lethal.

Lin Feng's pupils contracted. With no time to think, he stomped his foot hard on the ground, and his body shot off to the left to avoid the sneak attack.

The moment he moved, a Pocket Crossbow Arrow grazed past his shoulder. Lin Feng's face turned ashen with fury. He never imagined Wang Jing would resort to a sneak attack with a hidden weapon.

SWOOSH!

A continuous volley of Pocket Crossbow Arrows zipped past him, making his heart pound. He was forced to be on guard for an attack from any direction, putting him on the defensive.

Seizing the opportunity, Wang Jing appeared before Lin Feng in a flash. With a flick of his wrist, he thrust out a palm. The strike stirred up a violent gust of wind; he clearly intended to grievously injure Lin Feng with this one blow.

BOOM!

Not showing any weakness, Lin Feng met the attack head-on. The collision produced a massive explosion, sending a mushroom cloud into the air as both fighters were sent flying backward.

Lin Feng stumbled back several steps in mid-air before barely regaining his footing. Wang Jing, however, was in a much worse state.

A trickle of fresh blood spilled from his lips. His eyes were filled with utter disbelief. He couldn't believe that Lin Feng was so formidable; to think that he, Wang Jing, had been injured in the exchange.

WHOOSH!

Lin Feng's figure vanished again. The next moment, he reappeared above Wang Jing, his fist opening into a palm as he struck downward!

"Thunderbolt Palm!"

Lin Feng roared. A terrifying aura erupted from his body, suffused with an unrivaled, bone-chilling killing intent.

Lin Feng poured all his strength into this palm strike. He knew that only by going all out did he have a sliver of a chance to survive. Otherwise, Wang Jing's counterattack would surely tear him to shreds.

BOOM!

A powerful shockwave radiated outward. Lin Feng stumbled back another five or six steps, fresh blood now trickling from the corner of his mouth.

His fists were clenched tightly in obvious pain. Wang Jing's last attack had been too ferocious, and he had been injured as well.

"So, kid. Any last words?"

Wang Jing said, staring coldly at Lin Feng. In his eyes, Lin Feng was a spent force, with no strength left to resist.

"I admit, the gap between us right now is still quite obvious."

Lin Feng said nonchalantly, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth. He knew he had to prepare for the worst. Wang Jing now had the upper hand, and he had to find a way to kill him, no matter what it took.

"Since you know that, you should just surrender. I'll be happy to send you to the Yellow Springs!"

Wang Jing gave a savage grin. He could see that Lin Feng was running on fumes. Since his own power was so much greater, the outcome of this battle was already decided.

"Heh, not necessarily. You alone aren't enough to kill me," Lin Feng said with a cold laugh.

Then his body blurred, and he shot off into the distance. Wang Jing just shook his head slightly.

He knew Lin Feng was out of options. There was no suspense left in this fight; Lin Feng was simply not his match.

But in the next second, Wang Jing's expression changed. With a flash of his right hand, a silver-white short sword appeared in Lin Feng's grasp. He hadn't expected Lin Feng to have a weapon, but that was all it was. A minor surprise.
