Chapter 131: Slaughter
A massive crater appeared where Lin Feng had just stood, blasted open by Chen Wu's fist. Dust and smoke billowed everywhere!
Chen Wu's attack missed, and his pupils contracted. He had been sure he'd locked onto Lin Feng, yet Lin Feng's movements were still too fast.
Chen Wu was stunned. 'This Lin Feng actually managed to dodge my punch! He's just too fast.'
SWOOSH!
Lin Feng's figure reappeared on the other side of the clearing. His gaze was ice-cold, filled with killing intent as he stared at Chen Wu. 'The situation is very unfavorable for me,' he thought. 'Even though I have the offensive advantage, Chen Wu is as slippery as an eel, and I have no way to counter him.'
Stomping his foot on the ground, he shot forward like an arrow released from a bowstring. In a flash, he was in front of Chen Wu, driving his elbow violently toward his opponent's ribs, intending to cripple him completely.
Chen Wu crouched slightly and answered with a sweeping kick. He knew the situation was bad for him; he had to seize the initiative and strike before Lin Feng did.
BAM!
Chen Wu's kick landed on Lin Feng's arm, but to his astonishment, Lin Feng didn't budge an inch. It was like kicking a steel plate. The blow didn't seem to harm Lin Feng at all; instead, a sharp pain shot through Chen Wu's own leg, shocking him to his core.
'How is Lin Feng so fast?'
Chen Wu was baffled. Lin Feng's speed was simply uncanny; he had never imagined anyone could move so quickly.
SHLICK!
Just then, a chill shot down Chen Wu's spine. Without a moment's hesitation, he twisted his body and threw up an arm to block, but he still felt the sharp pain of a blade piercing his flesh.
A short sword had plunged into his lower back without any warning. If his reaction hadn't been so swift, the blow would have been devastating.
Immediately after, a punch from Lin Feng came roaring in. This one was even more powerful, the wind from the blow howling as if it would devour Chen Wu whole.
Seeing this, Chen Wu was scared out of his wits. 'How can he be this fast? And his reflexes are incredibly sharp!'
If he hadn't reacted in time, he would have been critically wounded. Even so, intense pain radiated from his back, filling him with a mix of fury and alarm.
Just then, Lin Feng unleashed another sweeping kick. He was so fast he reached Chen Wu in the blink of an eye. The color drained from Chen Wu's face as he hastily dodged to the left.
CRACK!
Lin Feng's foot slammed into the spot where Chen Wu had just been. The ground shattered, and a long fissure shot out for over ten meters. The force of the impact sent Chen Wu flying several meters away. His clothes were covered in dust, and a trickle of crimson blood seeped from the corner of his mouth.
He struggled to his feet, his gaze fixed on Lin Feng, now filled with deep apprehension.
"You... you have a Yellow-rank weapon?"
Chen Wu wiped the blood from his mouth, his eyes fixed on the short sword in Lin Feng's hand, still slick with his own blood. His expression was a mixture of greed and gravity. The blade was a brilliant silver-white, and its sharpness far surpassed that of any mundane weapon.
"I told you," Lin Feng said, his voice cold. "Even if I die today, you are not walking out of my manor alive."
A monstrous wave of hatred emanated from him, seeming to fill the entire clearing.
Upon hearing this, Chen Wu snorted. "As if you're worthy!"
With that, he shot forward, his body moving like a phantom through the night, radiating a biting killing intent.
Lin Feng's eyes narrowed. 'I know the realm I've unsealed is far inferior to Chen Wu's. That's a fact. I have to be careful. Otherwise, defeat is certain.'
With a flicker, Lin Feng surprisingly advanced to meet the charge. His footwork was profound, each movement flowing with a unique rhythm. The shadow of Chen Wu's fist met him halfway, and the two instantly clashed.
Chen Wu's Fist Technique was fierce and brutal, but his charge had been hasty. Lin Feng, in contrast, responded with composure. Although there was a world of difference in their cultivation levels, the fight was surprisingly even.
As Lin Feng parried Chen Wu's blows, he was also formulating a strategy. Chen Wu's attacks were wild and ferocious, but they lacked a certain finesse. And while Lin Feng might be lacking in raw power, he was pushing his Inner Strength to its absolute limit.
The fight was a dazzling display, with each combatant having his own strengths. This kind of high-intensity battle was incredibly beneficial for a Martial Artist, as it could greatly help improve one's cultivation aptitude.
BAM!
Both Lin Feng and Chen Wu were incredibly fast, their attack speeds increasing with every exchange. Their figures clashed wildly under the moonlight, bursts of Inner Strength erupting from their fists with each impact.
The shockwaves from their blows instantly pulverized the rockeries, rubble, and dead branches across the manor grounds. The surrounding lawn, already riddled with craters, collapsed even further.
The intense battle raged for more than thirty exchanges without pause. Both men began to unleash their trump cards, and a violent energy swirled around Chen Wu's fists.
WHAM!
Chen Wu's iron-like fist shot out, aiming straight for Lin Feng's chest. He intended to kill him in a single blow.
Lin Feng's body shifted slightly to the right, effortlessly evading the attack. At the same time, he drove a clean, sharp knee toward Chen Wu's lower abdomen. If it connected, the blow would likely be fatal.
"Hmph. I knew you'd try that!"
Chen Wu had been anticipating the knee strike. The instant before it landed, he shot into the air, narrowly dodging the attack.
Chen Wu flipped in mid-air and landed steadily on his feet. He glanced at his own somewhat disheveled appearance and couldn't help but shake his head with a wry smile.
'To think I'd stumble against someone like him,' he thought with a self-deprecating grimace. 'Lin Feng is clearly weaker than me, but his abilities are bizarre and unpredictable. His terrifying speed, especially, was far beyond what I expected.'
Seeing this, a slight smile touched Lin Feng's lips. 'He's clever, I'll give him that. He actually dodged my killing move.'
His attack having failed, Lin Feng tapped his toes on a large tree and shot straight into the air like an arrow loosed from a bow. He then arced through the sky, bringing a massive phantom fist down on Chen Wu from above.
This was one of the few martial arts techniques Lin Feng could currently use: Thunderbolt Fist!
This Fist Technique was renowned for its speed. It was something Lin Feng had practiced for fun back when he was at the height of his power.
But even something he practiced for fun was beyond what the younger generation could ever hope to master, because the technique was simply too overpowering.
It not only demanded speed but also immense physical strength. Otherwise, anyone who tried to use Thunderbolt Fist risked having their internal organs ruptured by the sheer force of the technique.
