Chapter 101: Flowing
A two-centimeter-long gash appeared on his shoulder. Blood streamed down his arm, dyeing half his sleeve red.
But it wasn't nearly enough to make Lin Feng stop his charge. To do so would mean being gunned down where he stood. No matter how fast he was, he couldn't outrun a dense hail of bullets.
Lin Feng gritted his teeth and leaped directly into the villa's living room. His thinking was simple. 'Since these people want to kill me, there's no need to play by the rules of the martial world.'
'First, I'll kill them all. Then, I'll search Wang Zeping's residence.'
'I refuse to believe Wang Zeping can flee to the ends of the earth. Once I capture him, this will all be over.'
RAT-A-TAT-TAT...
A dense spray of bullets flew toward Lin Feng, yet he weaved through the storm of lead and steel completely unscathed.
With every step he took, the hail of bullets seemed to part around him, falling away like shattered glass. He moved through the night like an agile leopard.
The instant his feet touched the floorboards, he launched himself into the air. Harnessing his momentum and explosive power, he lashed out with vicious kicks, striking one guard after another.
THUD! THUD! THUD!
A series of dull thuds echoed out as his kicks found their mark on the guards' chests. Blood sprayed from their mouths. The remaining men were stunned; none of them could have imagined this outcome.
Lin Feng was injured as well, but not severely. His fists also rained down on the guards' bodies.
A single punch was enough to shatter their bones; Lin Feng's strikes even pulverized their internal organs. They were sent flying like kites with their strings cut, crashing into and toppling numerous safes.
THUMP!
A guard's body slammed onto the hard steel floor. The impact was brutal, though the man was already dead.
Lin Feng's figure moved like a lightning bolt, tearing through the villa. Anyone who stood in his way was sent flying. Even grenades and sniper rifles were utterly useless in stopping him.
In the blink of an eye, all the bodyguards lay dead at his feet. The entire process had taken less than five seconds.
DRIP.
Droplets of scarlet blood trickled down Lin Feng's right arm, but he paid them no mind. To him, this level of pain was nothing.
However, he didn't relax his guard in the slightest.
Wang Zeping had already sent two Innate Martial Artists to ambush him on the road; now he was in the man's very stronghold.
Furthermore, a faint, persistent sense of crisis had been nagging at him ever since he entered the estate. It was a Martial Artist's instinct, and it was why he'd chosen to strike first to gain the upper hand. 'Otherwise,' he thought, 'I might not make it out of this estate alive tonight.'
Lin Feng continued his rampage through the villa but didn't dare approach the master bedroom. 'I know there must be an ambush waiting in there. Even if there isn't, I need to eliminate every visible threat before I go any further.'
Just as Lin Feng was eliminating the armed men in the courtyard, three figures emerged from two different directions within the villa.
They were the estate's guardians, all of them martial artists who had reached the pinnacle of their training. Moreover, they were Death Warriors raised by the Wang Family since childhood. They worked together with flawless coordination; if they attacked in concert, even Lin Feng would likely have a hard time gaining the upper hand.
WHOOSH!
Three figures in black shot toward Lin Feng, only to come to a bizarre, abrupt halt when they were still more than ten meters away.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
Three projectiles shot through the night, slicing through the air with a piercing shriek. The three short arrows were aimed directly at the center of Lin Feng's back.
THWACK! THWACK! THWACK!
But Lin Feng dodged the three short arrows with ease, and the three peak-level martial artists' faces grew grim.
It wasn't as if the three of them had never killed an Innate Martial Artist before. As core members of the Wang Family, they had been indoctrinated since childhood with absolute loyalty to the family and its Patriarch.
They had undergone brutal training from a young age. Working together, the three of them could even slay experts at the Early Stage of Innate. This time, however, they had hit a brick wall.
"So you're Wang Zeping's last trump card?"
Lin Feng asked coolly, slowly turning to face them. He was now certain that Wang Zeping was somewhere in this villa, and he had to capture him as quickly as possible.
The moment the words left his mouth, all three charged at Lin Feng in unison.
SWISH!
As they moved, all three reached into their clothes, and a pitch-black Short Blade appeared in each of their hands.
Even from more than ten meters away, Lin Feng caught the cloying, sweet scent carried on them.
'Poison.'
His eyes narrowed. Lin Feng let out a cold snort as his figure abruptly accelerated, shooting straight toward one of the men.
The man saw him coming and moved to intercept, but Lin Feng was faster, throwing a punch.
BANG!
With a dull thud, the man was sent stumbling back several meters by the force of Lin Feng's punch.
But Lin Feng didn't pause for a moment. He continued his pursuit, his target being the third man. 'As long as I can capture him,' he reasoned, 'the other two will no longer pose a threat.'
Seeing Lin Feng charge at him, the man showed no weakness and rushed forward to meet him. The two were instantly locked in combat.
But Lin Feng landed a Palm Seal on the man's chest, sending him flying backward. At that very moment, however, Lin Feng's eyes turned cold. He felt a sudden sense of danger!
SWISH!
The man's Short Blade stabbed straight for Lin Feng's left ribs. The sharp edge glinted with a cold light, forcing a frown from Lin Feng. The man's eyes flashed with ferocity, his gaze like that of a predator staring down its prey.
Lin Feng twisted his body. The man's Short Blade scraped past his skin, carving a deep wound across his chest.
Lin Feng kicked the man in the abdomen, sending him flying four or five meters away. Before his opponent could even regain his footing, Lin Feng charged again.
Seeing Lin Feng rush him again, the man let out a sinister laugh. His earlier surprise attack had succeeded only because he had accurately predicted Lin Feng's movements.
'That's how I pulled off that "cicada shedding its shell" feint. But now that he's seen through it, I have to fight for my life. Only the living can enjoy riches and glory. The dead have nothing.'
The corners of the man's mouth lifted into a savage grin. He made the same motion, feinting toward Lin Feng's left shoulder as the chilling blade thrust straight for his heart.
This time, however, Lin Feng repeated his own previous movement. The instant before the Short Blade could pierce his heart, his left hand shot out and clamped down on the wrist of the man's weapon hand.
