Chapter 95: The Second One
"Hmph. Is that all you've got?"
Lin Feng sneered.
At his words, the man in black's face turned livid. He glared at Lin Feng and snarled through gritted teeth, "You damn brat! Don't think you can look down on the Wang Family's skills just because you're an Innate Martial Artist!"
He seethed with fury. 'A dignified Innate Martial Artist like me, unable to take down some greenhorn brat? If word of this gets out, wouldn't I become a total laughingstock?'
At this thought, he roared, "Go and die!"
SWISH!
The dagger in the man's hand shot out once more. This time, it was even more ferocious, imbued with an unstoppable momentum that was terrifying to behold.
"Child's play."
Lin Feng scoffed, his eyes fixed coldly on the man in black. He launched himself from the ground, leaping high and twisting in mid-air before bringing a heavy roundhouse kick crashing down!
BAM!
The kick landed squarely on the man's shoulder, sending him tumbling to the ground. Lin Feng instantly closed the distance, appearing right before him.
The man's expression changed drastically. Still reeling and off-balance from the kick, he was in no position to defend against Lin Feng's relentless follow-up.
Lin Feng drove his knee straight toward the man's abdomen. Had the man not hastily thrown his military spike up to block at the last second, the blow would have been enough to take him out of the fight!
'Such fast reflexes!'
The man in black was terrified. He hadn't expected a kid this young to be so terrifyingly strong. He hadn't even been able to fully dodge Lin Feng's attack, and a sense of dread washed over him.
'The Master's intel was wrong. This kid's strength is far from simple!'
'I have to kill him, and fast. If he gets used to my rhythm, I'll be the one in danger!'
A dozen thoughts flashed through the man's mind, but he knew one thing for certain: he was no match for Lin Feng. His only option was to eliminate the threat completely.
"Die, kid."
He snarled, and the military spike in his hand erupted with a cold, metallic glint as he thrust it straight at Lin Feng's heart.
TING!
But in the nick of time, Lin Feng swerved, narrowly dodging the attack. Seizing the opening, his Yellow-Grade Dagger sliced through his opponent's skin.
SLICE!
Blood gushed out.
The man in black grunted, a sharp pain shooting up his arm. His pupils contracted as he glanced at the flowing blood. He was stunned.
'I'm... injured?'
'I'm a Death Warrior trained by the Wang Family! How could I be wounded so easily?'
Meanwhile, Lin Feng didn't look flustered in the slightest. It was clear the man had finally met his match!
"You're good, kid."
The man in black said grimly after a moment's thought.
"Agreed."
Lin Feng nodded slightly, then said, "Well, since I clearly can't win, I guess I'll just be going."
He made to turn and leave. There was no point in continuing to fight someone who was so outmatched. Besides, he had only planned on killing two people to begin with.
The man's face froze. Watching Lin Feng's retreating back, he snarled, "Trying to run? Not a chance!"
With that, he shot forward in pursuit, his dagger a blur. He unleashed a flurry of strikes, a veritable storm of steel that enveloped Lin Feng!
"Hmph!"
Lin Feng snorted, parrying with his dagger as he retreated, his movements as slippery as an eel.
WHOOSH!
The moment Lin Feng retreated, the man in black suddenly closed the distance with a single stride, thrusting his military spike toward Lin Feng's vital points.
The flurry of attacks enveloped him completely, the glinting afterimages of the weapon forming a net that sealed off all his escape routes.
"Today's the day you die, kid!"
A vicious look crossed the man's face.
His military spike shot forward. He had to finish Lin Feng with his best move. He couldn't afford any more delays; that would only invite complications.
After all, Lin Feng was too strong and too young. His potential was immense. To leave such a threat alive would surely spell trouble for the Wang Family down the line.
CLANG!
The clang of metal echoed as sparks flew. Lin Feng and the man in black were once again locked in combat.
The man's eyes were ice-cold as he relentlessly attacked Lin Feng with his military spike. This man in black was incredibly strong, his moves were unpredictable, and his defense was impenetrable.
Lin Feng knew that for a master of his caliber, being forced onto the defensive was the most dangerous position to be in. He needed to break out of this predicament, and quickly.
But shaking off the man in black was easier said than done.
THWACK!
Suddenly, the man's right leg was gashed open. Bright red blood streamed down his pant leg, but he paid it no mind, his attacks only growing more frantic.
This was a feint. The goal was to lure Lin Feng into attacking his right leg, creating an opening to smash his left fist into Lin Feng's chest. A single punch would be enough to shatter his sternum!
"You fell for it, kid!"
A savage grin spread across the man's face. His lips trembled, his eyes filled with a crazed light.
BAM!
But just as the man thought he had succeeded, Lin Feng grabbed his right leg. In a single motion, Lin Feng spun around, swinging the man's entire body through the air and slamming him into the ground like a sandbag.
'What kind of move was that?!'
Scrambling to his feet, the man clutched his chest. He never imagined he would one day be thrown to the ground like a ragdoll!
Moreover, that last slam nearly crippled him. 'If I didn't know how to disperse the impact, I'd be laid up in bed for months.'
SWOOSH!
While the man was still reeling, Lin Feng's dagger became a streak of cold light as it slashed toward his neck.
Terrified, the man hastily brought up his weapon to block.
CLANG!
A clear clang rang out as dagger met military spike, followed by the ear-piercing screech of scraping metal. Sparks flew, and the resulting shockwave flattened the surrounding grass.
Lin Feng slid back several meters before steadying himself. He looked up, a sharp glint in his eyes, and said calmly to the man in the distance, "You're strong."
"Hmph. Enough talk. Time to die!"
The man in black said coldly and charged again. He leaped into the air and, with a flick of his wrist, brought his military spike down in a vicious arc. He was confident the blow could shear through a steel bar.
But Lin Feng just sneered in contempt. As the attack came down, he moved in a blur, ducking low to easily evade it.
THUMP!
